Hi there, I'm seeing more and more Hans Hermann items coming up at auctions etc. They're good quality - most appear to be designed with offices rather than homes in mind. The designs are derivative and show that Hermann was a keen observer of Danish design. Looks like he was basing his designs on well known and commercially successful designs that were already out in the market but expensive. He may have been addressing the market for Danish office furniture with an Australian made (therefore cheaper) alternative.
A one line bio from Design and Art Australia Online: https://www.daao.org.au/bio/hans-hermann/biography/ says "Hermann was a furniture designer and principal of Hermann Furniture, 46 Adderley St, Lidcombe (factory) with a showroom at 151-153 Macquarie St, Sydney. (source: undated advertisement in the NSW RAIA Bulletin)
That's all I've found so far. I'll post more info if/as I find it.
