Hi again,

Really looking for some help with identification of recently acquired pair of upholstered mid century armchair so looking to draw on the expertise of the Design Addict Forum.

After a fair bit of casting around on Google I have drawn a blank.

Unusual characteristics are the jointing of the leg with the tenon joint extending completely through the arm and being visible on the surface of the arm. Also the bevelled finishing to the front of each arm.

The chairs were made with nicely grained brazilian rosewood and have a 50's feel about them. Unfortunately there are no labels or marks indicating country of origin or designer. From the overall quality I assume they must be scandinavian but beyond that I am pretty much in the dark.

I have noted that Fredrik Kayser used through jointing on the the leg and arm on several of his designs but cant find anything similar by him or anyone else.

Hopefully one or more of the mid century experts on this forum can shed some light on this and help with designer attribution or indeed anything that can carry my search forward.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

On cleaning the chairs I have just found impressed initials S.G. on the back of one of the front legs. ( See additional photo just added). Hoping  this additional info  sparks a Eurika moment for one of the experts on this forum that enables an attribution to be made . They are lovely chairs that need restoring but I would dearly love to know who designed/made them. Please provide any insights you may have.

Interesting chair, not an expert more an enthusiast but the wooden underneath construction and type of metal support system looks English!!
