Hi,
I'm about to buy some vintage Niels Otto Moeller chairs but the seller can't see any stamps or similar to confirm their authenticity. They are supposed to be from the 50's and they are made out of walnut. Does this model have replicas or is there nothing to worry about?
Thanks!

Agree with Kyle Barrett that the front bar of the weaving is taller than usual. And as well didn't see the model 71 in Walnut before, but e.g. the model 77. But it could have been one of their sub-producers in certain regions and some period.
I would send the picture to Niels O. Moller and ask for their comment and if they produced the model 71 in walnut before. https://www.jlm.dk
Well, Design Within Reach does offer new Moller 71 chairs on their site in walnut (24-week delivery in the US!). Nonetheless, there are subtle differences between those and the chairs pictured by the OP as previously mentioned.
I've never seen any Moller chair with such varied coloration between individual components. Historically, that look has never been part of Moller's aesthetic or quality-control standards. The wood pictured doesn't even look like premium-grade walnut heartwood to me.
