Hello guys,

Yesterday I bought this sofa, totally in the style of Magistretti's Maralunga sofa. Even when I'm 99% sure it's made with faux leather and it's not the real deal, the sofa is sooo confortable. Back-rests work perfectly and the design looks exactly the same to me if it wasn't for some seams in the back-rests: 1 in the right one, 2 in the left one (strange, I know), when there is supposed to be none.

Have any of you come across some replicas of Maralunga made in faux leather?? Because I'm not able to find any on the internet so I can at least know that they were made.

Thanks for any insight you can give!!

This is a typical design accident from the 1970s, was copied a hundred times and ruins countless living rooms.

Maralunga model itself was the accident you mean?? Or just knockoffs in faux leather like the one I bought?? ;))

Both, the model itself and the knockoffs.

Well, but then this is just based on your own dislike on the design. I dont agree with you though.

By the way, thanks for letting me know it was copied. This wasnt a matter of who likes it or who doesnt actually. I imagine there were knockoffs made in faux leather, so thats what I got 🙂

No, you misunderstood me, I didn't say it was a knockoff, I can't judge that from this photo. I couldn't even judge it from a better photo.

And as you can see, nobody else stepped in, because it's an uninteresting sofa.

Always good to learn something.

Even when it is if some piece of furniture is interesting or not because someone says so.

If your sofa adjust like the real thing, it could be a real one except it probably got a not so true to the original re-upholstery job.  Look at the Cassina website for how this sofa should look like.

Great.

Ill have that in mind about the upholstery and check the rest of the sofa.

Thanks for a "normal" answer. 😉
