Hi all,

Wondering if someone here might be able to help out. I've recently purchased what looks like an Eames Aluminium group side chair.

The seller wasn't sure of it's originality as there is no maker's stamp, however there is an odd indent where it would have otherwise gone. I read somewhere in the forums here that sometime during the late 60s Herman Miller began marking these chairs with stickers instead of stamping but I haven't been able to find what exactly a sticker would have looked like on this chair or where it would have gone.

What caught my eye most, though, was the original 'Contract' base which, from my understanding, is a likely sign of an original. Plus, the aluminium frame looks ancient! It's turned into a dull satin which I've observed in the photographs of early originals I've come across.

I'm really hoping someone here might be able to help shed some light on the origins of this particular chair, I'd be super appreciative!
