I picked up this matching set of penguin chairs by Ib kofod larsen. They came with this matching birch matchbooked veneer and solid wood table with thin iron base. The finish, wood and base of the table matches up with the chairs but there doesn't seem to be anything online remotely close to this in style. it measures 34 W x 54 D and the top surface sits within a metal tray built within the base. Is this a Kofod Larsen piece? could it have been built to match the chairs later here in California? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. It reminds me of some California modern styled pieces by Pacific Iron or Arthur Umanoff

I strikes me as a nicely designed custom made accompaniment to Ib Kofod Larsen's Selig Penguin, but I could be wrong. I would look on the underside and compare the screw mounting tabs, the screws, the appearance of the welds. If the table came from the same shop and same parts bin, it will show.
Incidentally, the shop that the Selig metal frame Penguin came from was in the USA. The shell backs were imported from Denmark and married to a welded frame made in the USA.
