I've recently inherited this lovely chair. I was told by my granddad it's a genuine Gio Ponti design, probably made by Cassina. My Google skills are usually pretty good, but in this case I'm getting a lot of Superleggera and the only link I've found to a chair that actually looks identical is this https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O371751/armchair-ponti-gio/.
This guy is making something similar https://deanbabin.com/woven-felted-contemporary-dining-reading-chair, which is a Gio Ponti design, but the seat is a little different.
Does anybody have any more info? Be interested to know if it was ever a full production model and if it was, how many of them were made. Seems funny that so little info is generally available.
