Hi there, I'm wondering if this La Chaise is authentic or not? The seller got it from a deceased friend of the family and doesn't know or care about design at all. They assume it's the one from the DWR website ... well, because it looks like that one. I've asked if there are any labels or marks underneath (chair or wood base) and am waiting to hear back. What do you guys think? Thanks, Otto

I had the same issue a few years ago with an Eames La Chaise. With all the research I did I still failed to determine if it was real or not. You'd think that piece of furniture that retails new for over 10k would have something more on it than a paper label pasted to the underside. Anyway, the cheaper knock-offs are readily apparent by how the legs are connected to the underside. Also, I believe the base of all original Vitra pieces are oak.
