Found more/different information on the chair I posted above .

DFI. ref; RP03752

A prototype produced by France and Daverkosen and a prize winner at the Copenhagen Furniture Dealers Assoc.1951.

Designers; Hans J Madsen and Ove Larsen.

Refernces; Mobilia 1968; no;150 And Dansk Kunsthåndværk årg 1952 (c)

You can see how the confusion arose. Same surnames for designers.

Adding image from DFI ,as I realise we are now on page 2 of thread and my original image is on page 1 . 🙄

@lexi Whoever Hans J Madsen and Ove Larsen were. Do you know the issue of Dansk Kunsthaandvaerk in which it is discussed?

@lexi - I have a few of them but not too many from 1952. Will have a look.

@herringbone. I have contacted the Designmuseum Denmark aka DFI in the past and they have always replied. With this pandemic they might be a bit slower to reply but worth a try ,I suppose. I will do it if you want; unless I am blacklisted as I usually contact them with new information / corrections to their Index !!! 😉

@lexi Please do - and let me know how they reply and if at all. The Design Museum has been closed since the beginning of corona and is set to stay closed until the end of next year. They undergo a massive restructuring process, they reduce the number of employees and I would really like to know if they still do things as they used to.

@herringbone. Got an "auto" reply. As you suspected:

Thanks for your mail!

Designmuseum Danmark is temporarily closed due to redevelopment and will reopen at the end of 2021. Due to Covid-19, we have had to close and postpone a major thorough renovation of the museum's historic buildings.
Therefore, the museum is closed to the public until the end of 2021. We regularly answer our main email and a small team is still working to prepare the museum for the big reopening.

Take care of yourself - and listen to
Designmuseum Danmark again

@ Lexi Not that I needed them that often lately, but it’s sad nevertheless.

@herringbone. Indeed. It is a good reference source even with the odd erroneous entry here and there.

@lexi Alright. Here’s the picture from Dansk Kunsthåndværk. It reads Bender Madsen and Larsen. But the report deals with a big exhibition, it has many photos with many chairs, so it’s quite likely that details are incorrect. (Yes, I am speaking from experience) Mobilia will be the more reliable source here, so we assume that it is a France & Daverkosen prototype. Which makes it rather useless here, because I don’t think anybody will ever ask for an ID of this special chair. 😅

@herringbone. Thank you for taking the time to look that up. And, as you say, it is most unlikely it will ever pop up as an ID request!! 😉

What I found out: These two are definitely not Kai Kristiansen. But it will be hard to put a name on the Sax chair. The company worked with many architects but I haven’t been able to find catalogs, and the architects they worked with don’t seem to belong to the architectural elite. I only got one name, and that was a name I have never heard of.

@herringbone. I had come across that name before. It is the first one I checked out on DFI and Google in relation to this  SAX chair but, as you say no record of any other models by him.
