I have what looks like a nice Marc Chagall lovers and bouquet lithograph.
does anyone here have the Marc Chagall Catalog Raissone Book
its a unsigned and non-numbered litho with beautiful colors with what kinda looks like a stamped signature that was done after the inking. (there is a 1.5inch ink smear from when the black was drying so maybe this was a reject litho?)
the only provanace I have is that it came from savannah GA and the lady had it for many years and didn't know of the artist
ive searched and searched and only came upon a single work that was exact (minus the smear)

can someone tell me what their opinions is? I am keeping it regardless and will have it framed thie week.

Two inexpensive but invaluable items to help the untrained determine authenticity of fine art prints:
"How to Identify Prints" by Bamber Gascoigne - $25
Cheap illuminated pocket microscope - $12
A no-brainer investment for anyone interested in the subject.
As for your print, del, authentic Chagall lithographs were printed from stones. Under magnification, "offset" lithographs will show a pattern of tiny spots of color and would indicate that it is a reproduction.
I had searched that but the coloring is different. The one I had linked is the only exact one I have seen, with color strength
Any thought on the close ups?
There is also a light pencil $80 marking on the back that quite Worn away. The lady I got it from didn't know about it. Does anyone know what where original sales prices of these back in the day? 80$ in 1970 is about the same as 500$ today. It came from one of the islands around Savannah GA which are very wealthy and have a high Jewish population. So not sure if there is any Legiticy to my theory
I also have a Chagall stone litho that I have had for a while. It's different in that it has the sig as part of the print
Mine is weird in that the colors slop all over the edges. I think it's cool
and here are a couple of LINKS since posting pics is problematic.

OK, so, I was mistaken about signatures. Apparently many Chagall prints show them integral with the printed design or "in the plate". Many, but not all, are also hand-signed and numbered, usually in pencil. There are many factors contributing to authentication and/or value.
I can't tell from the photographs if the prints are authentic or not. If, under magnification, the prints don't appear as if produced by photomechanical processes and all else about them seems consistent with originals, then they might be worth having appraised by an expert. Chagall was extraordinarily prolific and his prints were very popular. There are, as well, tons of fakes and reproduction prints out there, so it pays to be wary.
