Anyone know anything about this design please?
I've had a pair of these chairs for over ten years and never been able to find anything out about them. Someone bought them for me from a second hand market, in the UK, maybe in the late 90's or early 2000's. Outer cover is grey wool with dark red piping, velcro to close at the foot end, no maker's name or other markings that I could see. The structural element is tubular metal, presumably steel, running all around the outline of the chair. The upholstery feels like foam, over webbing for the seat area.
I have never even seen any chairs that use the same design principle, the way the back and seat relate, and don't have words to adequately describe this.
