Picked this up from a colleague earlier this year and haven't been able to ID it.  The stereo equipment was long-since removed.  Speakers still in place, and piping music via BT.  LH and RH sections have top hatches.  Record player was located on RH side.Center section has two doors -presumably one where the receiver was and the other?  Upper door folds forward and recedes into the console.  Lower door is hinged and had a retaining arm.Thoughts?  Guesses?  Questions?

Yes-looks to be a Braun cabinet designed by Herbert Hirche

It does appear similar, however the top-hinged sections do not have what appears to be the standard L-shaped cover, rather just a flat access panel.  Trolling around a bit, the closest I could find among the Braun offerings was this R23 model, however again, it has the L-shaped covers and a band across the front.

Anyone have a good resource for detailed shots of the hinges used on the Braun cabinets?

Is the original back cover panel for the electrical radio/stereo components still intact?  That should say Braun if it is.
It couls also be the other German made stereo Grundig AG and maybe a variation of this.

See if you can spot it here.

Ooh, that Grundig looks veeeeery close.

No, sadly no labels or markings that I can find.  Haven't popped the speaker panels off to check any brands there
Very close -

A few other, random pictures of the unit I've got (need to take a few more detailed shots) -

If you have access to it, it could be the same one (?) on page 125 from the 2005 book Braun 50 Jahre Produktinnovation.  It should be the same page from the recent version with the English text.
It looks like your console has a teak(?) veneer with a matte finish.  It could be an indicator that it is a Braun (a variant of the reductive Ulm School designs by Herbert Hirsch).  If the top coat is a high gloss finish, it is most likely a Grundig and it will have the Grundig name in front.  (Other woods like beech and ash veneer with a matte finish were also used in the iconic Snow White's coffin by Braun Sk4, SK55  and others by Hans Gugelot and Dieter Rams).
Your console looks like it shared the same components as the Grundig AG model.  It is hard to say who made what.  Braun has improved/rebranded some of the best products out there at the time made by others like the the iconic Braun LE1 loudspeaker made by the British firm QUAD and marketed also as the QUAD ESL-57 model.  In the 1960's and 70's the speakers designed by Dieter Rams for Braun shared the same drivers and housing as the ADS brand (MA, USA).
It could be restored back, if your budget and time permits.  The radio/record playercomponents were also used in other Braun tabletop or console models.  Or you can do what these guys did, repurpose into something else.

Like a really large ipod/ipad dock with a flat screen hdtv hidden in that flip top that also serves alcoholic beverages.  Good Luck.

You will need to widen your search to determine if your stereo console is indeed by Braun.  It is too bad that the back panel is missing.  That piece will tell you who actually made your stereo cabinet.  If you are absolutely sure that your console has German origins, there are other German made stereos out there that took the Braun look.  Besides Grundig, brand names like Telefunken, SABA, Blaupunkt, Loewe and pretty sure more names/brands out there made during the same time as the console in question.
Braun stereo consoles are very refined and well made using book matched wood veneers both inside and out, piano hinges vs. regular hinges, no handles/pulls, etc....reductive but very high quality.
Even if it is anonymous, it is still a good looking cabinet and has potential for adaptive reuse.
This variation is is by Loewen.  Good Luck with the search.

Thanks for all the feedback minimoma.  I wish there were some sort of labeling - then again, I suppose I woulnd't be here if it were easy to pick out.  If there was one, probably on the missing trim at the bottom of the receiver.
Do you know if the corner light on the record player was unique to any makers?

There appears to be some heat marking in the corner on my model, as shown on the image above.  I'd assume it is a rather generic feature, but you never know.

Waaaaaay after the fact, I can now say that I've ID'd the make and model (for the one random person elsewhere also looking for what they've got without a label some day):

It's a Schaub-Lorenz Primaballerina Stereo 40F - https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/schaub_primaballerina_stereo_40.html

Little discussion online abound, but a few links -
