I acquired a pair of these club chairs a while back as part of a furniture grouping that came out of the office of a local businessman. Many of the pieces were marked, an included were some Knoll pieces, and a couple Risom desks. I haven't been able to attribute these chairs with absolute certainty........they resemble Florence Knoll's well known club chair, designed in 1954........but it seems that this chair was produced in much higher numbers with the steel base, thus making it tougher to find examples of pieces with the wooden base to compare to. Also, the dimensions of the chairs I have are slightly different than the dimensions listed by Knoll for the original FK lounge chair. The fabric on my chairs appears to be a natural looking tweed wool that has some variation. I've seen this same fabric on a couple Risom chairs.......but in my extensive research, it hasn't shown up frequently. The only remaining manufacturer's label is a small tag, attached to the underside of the frame, that reads "oil walnut base", along with a couple numbers. I've attached a photo of this for reference. The chairs are of excellent quality. Any help and/or thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
