Mystery dresser ID anyone? James Mont?  

I came across dresser this in a local used furniture store. Hoping someone can ID it.

You can't tell from the picture but the darker portion of the handles are actually raw silk upholstery. Behind each door is 5 drawers, for a total of 20 drawers. Drawer construction is dovetailed, looks high quality for its day, which I am guessing 1940's.

I'm hesitating buying it because:

1) it's huge, and bringing it home would be a task.

2) the finish is pretty beat-up.

3) the asking price isn't exactly cheap.

The piece makes me think of James Mont, though admittedly I'm not well versed though on his work. Hoping someone out there could ID it, to see if it's worth the couple of hundred bucks it would be to bring it back to life.
