I am obsessed with this piece of furniture but unable to identify the designer or manufacturer, making it next to impossible to do an online search or to describe it properly when contacting merchants who might have it. The attached picture is from a website which had the item for sale (sold) but could only describe it as "in the manner of Vladimir Kagan".

This particular piece is 76" long with three drawers and has a concave curved front. I saw another which had only two drawers and was 64" long. Sadly, the appearance of the gorgeous stretcher and chevron style handles were ruined by painting them chalk white. The seller could not find a makers mark or label of any type.
So I'm asking if any of the members of this forum can help me identify the piece before I have to put my obsession to rest.

There are lots more clues that you could give us, which we don't have. Most of us around here are just human with limited knowledge so every clue helps.

Ahh. So sorry. I've only seen this item online. It was sold when I inquired with the merchant who didn't seem to know any more about mid-century than I do. Here is the original description:
"Vladmir Kagan-style Mid-Century Modern credenza with unusual curved top. Features nine drawers, six smaller are concealed behind doors with wing-style pulls. Very heavy, solid piece of furniture.
Additional Dimensions | Large center drawers, 15"D x 34"W."
I am adding two more pictures from other angles. I'm afraid that's all I have. Just thought I'd try with you guys. No worries.

The board won't allow me to edit my original post to add more photos. Someone from a facebook group in Austin, TX sent pictures of what she believes are additional pieces in this furniture group.(shown below). She owns the item shown in the picture but says there are no marks or tags to help identify the maker. She bought it second hand from a used furniture dealer in Dallas who had purchased it from an estate sale in New Jersey. No one seems to know the age or manufacturer. However, from looking at her piece it appears the piece I am drawn to is part of a bedroom set - the dresser, perhaps?

The questions Lief asked are pretty crucial to getting any further. Just a pic of a drawer pulled out would be a good start. Without knowing more, I would say it looks American to me, most likely one of the North Carolina manufacturers (or possibly New England) that didn't put their name on their furniture. No designer with name recognition. I would further guess late 50's or early 60's, but again drawer construction is a good check on that. I have run across other pieces that are very distinctive, and have shown up multiple times on the net, but have never been identified, and seem to be likewise from some other unknown US furniture makers.
