This particular chair hsa a lot in common with many scissor chairs, but I've found it difficult to match it exactly. Any thoughts?

That's different.  I'd have extended that rear leg somewhat, for appearance and for stability ?  Still,  a fresh take on the type . . .

I'll have to return to this with another picture, but in the meantime, a note:
The sling seems to have been adapted at a later date. There are straps on the back as if to support a cushion. I'll add a picture later.
Also, I agree about the leg. It seems like a strange design decision. Also, the construction seems odd to me. The way the two legs intersect seems awkward.

Yes -- one wonders at first if it isn't sideways or upside down !  But it is an interesting design.  The cross lap at center is potentially a very strong connection;  if the bents have good splines or tenons, the piece should be quite sturdy -- and adventuresome at the same time. One could call it the Double Boomerang Chair . . .
Sometimes we see a design and want to take it as a starting point.  I always strive for some kind of arm, so it would be fun to see if that could happen too.
