ID of massive walnut credenza/sideboard with back-beveled slate top? Is this mid century or contemporary?  

Is this a mid century piece or a contemporary piece? I bought this at an on-line auction (for $325 USD) and haven't seen it in person yet. I suspect it's a contemporary piece (rather than mid century, as advertised) since the grime location and the lack of knobs suggest that the doors have push-to-open magnetic latches.
If it's mid century, can anyone identify the maker? The piece is 33 1/2"h x 110"w x 20"d (85cm h x 279cm w x 51cm d). The piece is walnut veneer with a slate top.
