I recently acquired these nice solid walnut chairs. Looking at them the frame seems to be identical to low height version of the Milo Baughman Archie chair, with the main difference being the back rest. The rest of the frame seems exactly the same. The webbing is a single sheet of black elastic/rubber type material that is stapled down. They do not have any maker's mark but do have a Genuine American Walnut label so I assume they are made in USA.
I would really appreciate if anyone can confirm if they are Thayer Coggin? Also as I am having new cushions made does anyone out there have photos of how the original cushions were made? did they have buttons like the Archie chairs? what year were they made?
thanks in advance!

Thayer Coggin did use that rubberized material on at least some of their Danish modern frame chairs, and it's not that common. I would say it most likely is TC. I hear that they're friendly and helpful in identifying rheir products if you email them with pictures.

Thanks - you know I went all around their website and cannot for the life of me find a contact email address. any ideas how to find it?
I found a similar chair on 1stdibs - a high back version with same lower frame. That is what made me think of this.

Someone at Thayer Coggin will be happy to help you authenticate these chairs, just use the contact form on the Thayer Coggin website, located by hitting the "find a store" button or "where to buy" button and include you question in the comment, question section of the form. If you are a facebook user, you can also message Thayer Coggin via our facebook page.

I gave the head office a call and nicely asked who might handle such a question, and they sent me right over to the person, who was extraordinarily helpful.
