Hello all,
I have had this chair for some years now due to an inheritance but I have no clue who made it.
I can't find any identifying marks but perhaps that anyone here can help me figure it out?
Kind regards,
Robert

I am baffled by the little information available on this model (and surprised by its value).
So happy i didnt threw it out during my last move. Going to be real careful with it.
Also have some other chairs which we dont know the origins of (which i actually love but dont fit the interiordesign at the moment) so I'll be posting osme pictures of those too 🙂

These are the others chairs. We inherited a set with a wooden table (couldnt yet make a picture of the table) that fits between them. They are also reupholstered about 20-30 years ago.
I have no idea how to appraise the chairs realistically (including the Theo Ruth one). Can you go with pictures by vintage stores or is there a better way?

Martin Visser for spectrum de sz 31 1957
the forum is meant to identify not to value the rules of the forum forbid as i understand to give estimates or ask for it rule 3??
what you could do to get a idea of price is
just google look and compare
you could chek out vintage sites like retrostart.com most dutch dealers are on it and devide the price by two (delen door twee) since the (inkoop) buying brice of dealers which you will probably get is not the selling price of them
you can also chek out public action site like catawiki there persons sell to persons civilian to civilian see what they do on the open market

Hallo Robert & Maarten,
Great chair! Until some years ago we used a congo & penguin in our living room, designs by Theo Ruth are exceptional. For me they embody striking, bold design (exemplary for the fifties & sixties) but often tied to classical, quality construction. They seem a sort of transition pieces within the design world.
I always admired the fabrics used on these models, very graphic and modern/playful. I believe these were drawn by Lewin Allcopley, for De Ploeg?
Are these still around somewhere, Maarten?

i don't think the fabric is stil available the two chairs who were recently sold by known dutch dealers
were restored using the Original fabric wich tells me since these are very informed guys the fabric is not there anymore

Is there a reference book or anything on these models? Because I've been looking and other " model 122" look very different in shape so i wonder if its actually a model 122? Or is it purely for the Artifort 155 range that it looks different?
The only site that i can find on it is actually a dealer but no " history" or reference sites.

there is artifort has a book with the history you see a copy of one page if you google theo ruth 122 at a dealer in the Netherlands (novac) Artifort has a site artifort (steepje) shop (punt) nederland
and there you see Second generation wich shows either by designer of year a overview

Thanks for the information. However, i can't find my model on the site of artifort shop. The 122 model there deviates from mine (although they mention 121-122 and only show one)
