Recently came across what appears to be a 6ft George Nelson bench at a local thrift store. My question is weather or not this is an authentic George Nelson bench rather than a knock off. There is no Herman Miller tag or marking present on the bench, but the black paint is in significantly worn condition in many places, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

kittybufu,
Try this thread: http://mobile.designaddict.com/forum/General-discussion/George-Nelson-Pl... from a prior post. A Google image search may provide further help.
It appears authentic. A professional opinion is best (I am a Knoll fan with limited consideration given to any Herman Miller products).
Clean carefully and gently. Do not attempt to restore.
That was the first thread I came across on the topic concerning authenticity of this Nelson bench I've acquired. There are some differences with that one, particularly the middle support slats have single dowels vs mine have two smaller holes along the middle slats, maybe nails or smaller dowels? I do plan to just clean it up, black isn't my preferred color of the Nelson bench but for the $10 I paid for it I guess I can't complain.
