I picked up these Mid Century lounge chairs today. They came out of a foreclosed 1950s house that a flipper bought and just wanted them out of the house. The flipper told me to make him an offer, so I said $60 and he said deal. These chairs scream Kroehler to me, but I wanted to know if anyone else has some thoughts on who made them.

Periuche - these are very typical interpretation of the 'biomorphic' look of the 1950's that became retro in the 1980s, the early days of what is now known as mid century modern. It was the over the top, the kitsch (they are so bad and so good at the same time), pink flamingos, fiberglass lamp shades, Sputnik lamps and the amoeba table. Most are anonymous but never mind that, they did definetely defined that look that still persist today. Then suddenly someone brought out grandpa's out dated shelving unit that had been relegated to the basement or garage when it went out of fashion which people later found out was designed by Eames.
The style of these seats are great if you are definetly recreating the look of the 1950s ranch house. It is kind of interesting that the original owner was getting rid of it, I know some people who actually bought a 1950s house for its original furnishings.
It's a great find if you are into this style. Now you need to get a matching Cadillac with the biggest tail fin of them all, the 1958 El Dorado convertible.

minimoma,
Real tears flowing..... Lol.... Thanks for your feedback. I haven't decided what to do with them yet, but there is a possibility that we might reupholster and keep them. Right now we are using a pair of vintage Howard Parlor Furniture Co. loungers in our back TV room. I bought them originally to resell, but Mrs. Peruche wanted to keep them for my 5 year old and her to use as small beds as they watched movies. The Howard Parlor loungers are super comfy, but the Kroehler chairs have the look. Tough decision......
