Eames vitra ottoman cherry or faded palisander?

hi all,
i have the opportunity to buy the ottoman pictured below. i assume it is cherrywood but the seller tells me it is palisander (faded??). any help or advice would be much appreciated from those who know more about these things than me....

If the options are cherry, black pigmented walnut, or santos palisander (Bolivian rosewood), I would guess walnut.
One simple way the seller could prove it has faded, if indeed that is true, is to remove those 4 screws and show what it looks like where the light has not shone.
