I found this chair a couple of month ago and decided to give it some TLC.
Now it's completely restored with new upholstery.
Anyway?.
I can't seem to find out the name of the manufacturer or the designer of this piece.
The chair has several features that makes me think that it could possible be something special. The lines and joints on the backrest are quite complex (similar to Niels O. Møller) The original skai seat upholstery got me a bit concerned thou. There are no markings of any kind on the chair.
I appreciate any help on this!

looks very
much like a chair that has been made to look "scandinavian" using indian rosewood or fruit wood.
You see that wood all over tacky furniture shops selling" reclaimed timber" but are of dubious source and made purely for the western marked much like the chinese did with porcelain.
Still in the interest of making little or no waste keep loving it.
I just wanted to start of...
I just wanted to start of saying thanks to everyone who has been helping out so far.
I live in Norway Bergen, and I suspect that the chair could be from a local maker. It's quite typical for Norwegian furniture from the 50/60s to be without any marks or labels.
I'm 100% sure that it is a vintage piece and I?m convinced that it is Scandinavian.
There are to corner brackets holding the seat in place. Other than that there's no metal parts on the chair.
Found it!
Today I was helping a friend of mine identifying some chairs she bought on her local flee market. I was casually searching the web when I somehow ended up at Baxter & Liebchen. After to clicks I saw it! YES!!!!! It took me a while, but I had the joy of solving my own mystery. I totally recommend it! Btw, I also found my friends chair on the same site? I guess it was good day for identifying chairs?
The chair is a rosewood and leather ladder-back dining chair by Torbjørn Afdal. (1960s)
Nice work Lars and thanks for the attribution. I also thought the wood, finish and joinery looked too good to be a cheap knock-off.
Do you know anything more? Did Afdal work in Oslo? Bergen? Was he his own cabinetmaker like Peder Moos? If not, who produced his chairs? Gustav Bahus? Norcraft? Vatne?
