Thanks for your effort,
I´m still not convinced. I have also one original Brno Chair with pillips screws. I think the older chairs have phillips or slotted screws.
And if you compare the corners, they are nearly the same. Whatch the pictures. Even the corner of the unknown chair is less rounded. Left original, right unknown.

I have a 6 pack of matching Bruno's that have the typical "Art Metal Company , New York" on the sticker. Some retain their original "Knoll 320 Park Ave" sticker's. The armrest attachment screws on all aren't flathead, nor phillips...but a tiny hex screw (allen?). Your answer will come. Call or email Knoll, and let us know your findings.
Best,
Aunt M.
ps mine were purchased in mid 1960's for my fathers office.
sidenote. In your above picture comparing the Knoll chair with the mystery chair...I can't help but notice that the welting is much smoother (better workmanship) on the Knoll version. Also, are the mystery chairs vinyl or leather?

P.S.: the steel frame screws in my old chairs are original, they look like spax screws
