HelloI have just recently bought a bertoia chair with these mounts. Can anyone confirm that these chairs are genuine? I've seen so many different knoll mounts on old and new versions that I'm inclined to believe that as long as the vertical wires and horizontal wires all sit atop of the outer edge (except the front), and 13 holes up top, then it is genuine.ive seen the hairpin mount, a bracket mount, and the more recent compete weld.thanksben

That's how it's done in the UK, I had a relative bring one from back home a few years ago. You can also tell by the width of the top back and bottom front part of the chair that it is authentic. If you look at the one in my picture you can see the curvy lines on this knockoff I found for 20$. Not typically fond of fakes but it's a perfect desk chair. Also yes...I put a Herman Miller H base on it.
Thanks for that Kylejamesmod! interesting modification there! you cant go wrong with a $20 chair!
Im glad the chair is authentic, but im very unconvinced about these UK mounts. Only the front mounts were screwed into the base whereas the rears are hooked on. It doesnt seem that sturdy to me which is probably why Knoll changed these mounts early on and that there are not many about.
Im still undecided wheither to carefully fabricate the hairpin mounts and reweld or stick with the original damaged mounts and repair.
