I recently came across these unmarked office chairs, They look and feel like the real thing which i've seen before, but i am no expert. Is there anything that would stand out about the eames office chairs that would let me know whether these chairs are authentic or replicas?

I know lindaburns' post is just a shill for an office furniture company but just for fun I thought I'd compare the two---since so many people who are new to the world of design wonder if cheap knockoffs are worth it.
The one she references does not look exactly like the Eames Aluminum Group executive chair. In addition to all the obvious differences (biggest one being the standard issue office chair tilt mechanism under the seat!), the upholstery material is described both as "bonded leather" and, farther down in the description, "bounded leather". Bonded leather is ground up leather scraps that are reconstituted with some kind of bonding agent into sheet goods that are then coated with vinyl or something to give it the look of leather. It doesn't wear well at all. Authentic Eames Aluminum Group chairs are upholstered in Spinneybeck leather.
In this company's defense, their chair is obviously "inspired by" the real thing; they have made very obvious changes while retaining the basic look of the original. Many other companies make nearly exact copies and you will have to look harder for the differences, but they're there. The prices are a lot lower because they skimp on quality. You think you're saving $1,000++ but actually you're just wasting a few hundred.
