I just recently purchase a highboy that I intend to keep. The problem I have is whether or not I should refinish it myself or have a pro do it depending if its rare.

Im pretty sure it was designed by Albert Parvin; however, there is little to no info on his pieces to go on other than previously sold items on 1stdibs.com, so im on the fence.

I included the markings I was able to find to help identify the piece and confirm my suspicions.

Major Issues:

1. Previous owner was a picker and threw on PU haphazardly in order to sell quickly. So there are drip marks on the right side, bubbling on the top, and drips at the tips of the pulls.
2. The LEFT cabinet door has wood epoxy that needs to be recovered with veneer.
3. The hinge joints are not original on the LEFT cabinet door (already ordered replacements)

Other than that its in good condition: sturdy, light scratching that can we sanded out, dings that I can live with

If its not something rare/desireable, then ill do the work myself. Any info on the piece or opnions would be greatly appreciated .

Im having issues uploading the images so heres a link to another discussion:
