Hi all,
I came across this armchair just 2 days ago. Although it is in a very poor condition, but I couldn't let it go off my hands. I am eager know if anyone has any information of it that I can show and persuade my partner before he gets from my hand and throws away ?
Thank you in advance!

Has a lot of the design traits of a Norwegian piece. Might help you narrow it down if you search in that area. Westnofa, Vatne Møbler, Ekornes, etc. May be difficult to find on the internet, however, since this looks like a somewhat hasty adaptation of a single seat design, which means it is probably very low production numbers. Best bet is finding the one seater, or maybe the catalog that shows the 2 seat option.
The forum is going to need more information if there is any chance of IDing it. close ups of wood, fasteners, etc. Are the seat cushions leather? etc....

Dear All,
Thank you for your comments.
Upon closer comparison I can say that:
- the leather is quite supple (despite the mistreatment) and seems to be of a higher grade like the Siesta chairs given to my by my aunt in Oslo. Much higher quality than the knock-offs made by Danish Deluxe in Melbourne
- the eyelets in the canvas sling are brass
- the feet width seems to be wider than the Siesta though - as I believe they standardized on one dimension (as we have the foot stool and chair)
- we had a Sigurd Resell Falcon Foot Stool and our parents have an entire Siesta suite and the staining of what we believe to be oak looks exactly the same as the underside of this chair not touched by many years of UV
- their seems to be evidence of a long-gone sticker on the back rest of the same proportions of the Sigurd Resell sticker
- local knock-offs of Norwegian armchairs had upholstered armrests attached by allen key top of arm rests, this does not
I can attach more pictures of the underside of cushions etc but the nylon rope and canvas look to be in mint condition and quite easy to disassemble. This is very reminiscent of our Siesta chairs that almost fall together 🙂
