| RE: Teak Dining Room table | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Shplad | Identification | |
| lexi: Thanks again. Yes, the dimensions do match. However it looks like in the photo you posted that there are 4 hook-type things to hold a leaf on at the end. On my table, I believe there are only 2 fasteners. I'm going to grab a couple more photos today. If it is an Ingrid, do you have any idea how much it's worth for resale? | |||||
| RE: Really dissatisfied with new Eames Lounge Chair - other owners' experiences appreciated | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jacksonian | General discussion | |
| Posted by: J44 Hey all, somehow this is one of the only places/forums I’ve found discussing issues with the eames lounge chair. Why I’m here- I purchased one from DWR about 5 months ago. Someone sat in it and went to get up and now the button is loose, popping out easily when I sit in it. If I slide up to get out, the button drags under me and can get caught on my pants. I swapped the ottoman cushion for the seat one hoping this was a one off. But now another button is doing it. For $5k the construction seems so poor for this to be happening. I’m physicall ... | |||||
| RE: Danish Dining Table with Butterfly Extension | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | cdsilva | Identification | |
| It sounds like you’ve already seen the Danish Modern LA old listing, which appears to be the same table. You can always compare dimensions to confirm. Neither that nor the Instagram example appear to have been marked either, so that is not a positive sign for finding another one in the future that is marked. But you never know. I would not be surprised if your butterfly hardware and wood blocking were not original, and were later repairs. The brass alignment pegs for the leaves, the semicircular bullnose edge banding, the tapered ends of the side rails, the ... | |||||

| dc, not to diminish your... dc, not to diminish your talent, but I have to say that I see you more as a kind of brilliant Chuck Wepner. So that many folks here should not be intimidated with marquee names such as Koen and Wilson, can I just say also that the greatest boxing rivalry of the last forty years was not Ali/Frazier, Ali/Norton, or even Ali/Foreman, but was more likely Bazooka Limon versus Bobby Chacon. | |||||
| From a distance, I thought I | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | _ | General discussion | |
| From a distance, I thought I was just rescuing a useful/functional small wooden furniture for the kids playhouse. I was surprised to see the paper label from Illums Bolighus. I don't know if this is actually a children's toy but its diminutive scale makes it look like one. It does remind me of those traditional & elegant cabinets by Kaare Klint & Ole Wanscher from the 1930s & 40s. | |||||

| Dimitri Omersa leather elephant | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | michelm | General discussion | |
| Hi everybody, I've got a question for you fanatics out there (or actually a couple of questions) I've recently bought this leather elephant by dimitri Omersa. The problem is,as you can see on the pics, it's a bit worse for wear. One of the hind legs has been chewed upon by some feline creature. And the tail is missing. The rest of the leather is in good nick. Questions are as follows: Should I redo the leather (probably yes), but only the hind leg or recreate the tail as well. Will this ad/subtract substantially to the value, as I am probably looking to se ... | |||||

| Dimmer switch for desk lamp | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | Lit Up | General discussion | |
| Hey there I have a desk lamp and I want to stick a dimmer switch on its cord. I don't want to go into a hardware store and buy something new and generic, I'd rather get something vintage... any suggestions of where to find something like this? I guess if a switch is vintage and still works good it will stay on its lamp. So maybe this is too specific to find. | |||||

| Dimmer compatibility wasn't | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | fastfwd | General discussion | |
| Dimmer compatibility wasn't an issue for me -- I only cared about putting a lot of light through the polarizer without the skin-searing heat that even a 60-watt incandescent produces in that lamp -- but as it happens, this particular LED bulb doesn't buzz, at least on my dimmers. | |||||

| You can't have too many lamps (or dimmers). | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Monochrome | General discussion | |
| You can't have too many lamps (or dimmers). At the moment, we have two hooded metal floor lamps (one over each easy chair, for reading), plus, for ambience: a white-globed lollipop floor lamp; a sort of Noguchi-knockoff paper lantern on a shelf; the Objecto Eclipse on a side table, and a Panton-like silver-ball pendant over the stairs. Also a faint sort of cove light effect emanating from rope-light concealed behind top row of books on wall-spanning bookshelf. Room measures about 14 x 21 feet. Felt vindicated when cinematographer friend walked in, nodded, an ... | |||||
