| Eames 670 medallion label age (white or black)? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Don't know if this question has been posted before (I couldn't find it in the archives) but does anyone know the difference between the white and black HM medallions tags on the earlier Eames 670/ 671 (pre 1971) models? Is one earlier than the other or did Herman Miller simply use both at the same time? There is a lot of info on the web, but nothing definitive to indicate whether or not one was used earlier than the other. | |||||

| ... has no label and The underside cloth is torn. It seems that knoll and others describe these chairs as either: chrome, or chrome plated, or chrome plated steel, or metal chrome, or 100% stainless steel. My questions: What is the difference between all of these descriptions? Are all Knoll flat bar chairs 100% stainless? Does the missing label on one change the desirability or value as a pair? Or should I try to authenticate it further? I'm pretty new to this! Thanks for your help. The chairs are in a different location now but I can check details/ad pics in a ... | |||||
| Help on id of Danish "knock down" type chairs | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | NULL NULL | Identification | |
| I just picked these up recently and was wondering if anyone could help me indentify them. They are the knock down type and come apart very easily. The only marking on them are "Made in Denmark" stamped on the bottom of each piece the only difference being there is a style# of 4001 on the arm pieces. Through searching I have seen many made in Sweden that are similar but couldn't find any with the curved arms like these. If you click the web link it will bring you to a set that I have created for the chairs thanks for any info!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos ... | |||||

Google doesn't seem to be turning anything up that isn't used or vintage. Some claim to be manufactured by Thonet, but not all. Thanks, Peter. (edit:added a couple of pics)

I have seen a chair with the Herman Miller 'H' logo with a circle with an 'S' inside and one with the Herman Miller 'H' with a cresent and 3 prong 'X' inside. Could someone shed some light on why the difference? Is it a good indication of when it was produced or where it was made? | Please help iD this Mid Century Coffee Table. Update: Framac Pty Ltd. | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | tick | Identification
| Hi, I just bought this coffee table on eBay which is very similar to a 1950's British table (see first pic). The table I bought (see second pic) has a brass ring, but unlike the Original British table, the brass ring is held in place with small bolts. Another difference is the brass finials are hollow and elongated rather than being perfect brass spheres. Just wondering if anyone has seen this copy before. The seller tells me it is definitely a vintage piece. Thank you for any help. Cheers, Tick. | |||||

| Very old HM wire rocking chair? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | BAT | General discussion | |
| I see an earlier thread mentions the double wire on a this chair seemed to mean it is an older version. I recently bought this rocker with a double wire and the original burlap with Herman Miller label. The original black and brown upholstery is under the new fabric but unfortunately the edge that attaches it to the wire was cut away when reupholstered. Just wondering if this is a rare version? And does the new upholstery make a big difference in value? Thanks! http://photobucket.com/hermanmillerrocker | |||||

The fireplace measures 60" and the wall measures a tad less then 61 1/2". The problem is that the fireplace is not centered in the wall. There is a gap of tad more than 1/4" between the fireplace and end of the wall on the left side while a gap of about a bit more than 1" between the fireplace and end of the wall on the right side. So considering the picture is so large do I center over the fireplace or center between the edges o ...
