| No. Because that‘s not what we do here. You can easily google what other people try to sell it for, you can also google what similar pieces have fetched at auctions. But these prices usually differ greatly. As somebody here put it pretty well: A piece of furniture is worth exactly as much as somebody else is willing to pay for it. | |||||

We are both very pessimistic about what man has done to the world and his fellow man during humanity's time in the evolutionary spotlight. We differ on how to redeem humanity and on whether humanity is redeemable. You seem quite a bit more pessimistic in this regard than me.

The main thing is, I believe, the lack of any "depth" to the clock; but the other dimensions, as well as the shape of the hands, also differ from the originals. The Vitra-made clocks, on the other hand, are nearly identical to the originals in terms of dimensions, etc. Vitra is of course not the original manufacturer, though apparently they have the imprimatur of the Nelson estate. save up for a vintage one is my suggestion. they're not that expensive, and will (at least) hold their value ...

Honestly I have always been a huge Eames fan, but lately I have been a little obsessed with George Nelson and Associates. Don't misread my intentions here. My Nelson assumption came from stories online and offline that I have read, all which differ slightly from one another. But they all have a central theme ... that Nelson was open to others' creativity and allowed them to flourish independently in his office. He created an environment. The Eames' assumpti ...

The absolute present, as all great myths and psychologies and religions suggest, is the scariest place--the real place--the place where angels fear to tread and where heroes traverse inevitably--often inspite of themselves. How you get there is your own business, quite literally your own odyssey, but get there you must, as Yoda might mangle the syntax. Waste not anot ...

| I'm saving up and checking the market out for an early PH Artichoke. Recently I'm in contact with somebody who offers me a vintage ø72 cm model. I can see that it is an early example, one wire, handles, etc., but still they differ. Can any body tell me from which year this lamp approx. is? I would be very thankful. Kind regards, Chris. | @cawcarrot11 Nobody here will give you a valuation, you can look at auction results and get an idea. But these results may differ a lot, depending on who was bidding. Value is always a difficult matter. For it’s former owner, your chair was worth as much as you paid for it. Now you might find somebody, who is willing to pay more. But also maybe not. | |||||

Cristina Grajales, the New York dealer who won the table, looked alternately shocked and pleased as she swigged hard on a bottle of Poland Spring water and accepted incredulous congratulations from colleagues. I believe they have to differ in some way, often that means lesser quality, especially if we are talking about design issues such as how parts are joined etc. The Eames office did the research on how to best construct a chair for a reason, and that is why theirs (Herman Miller, Vitra) will last. It is also why they deserve a little more $$ for it (this is coming from a lower middle class person).
