| I'd forgotten I'd actually seen this, it was really pretty entertaining and I think dieter Rams popped up in it too somewhere too. What is really good too is this group Experimental Jetset, Their archive is fantastic. The LSD blotter sheet is very funny http://www.jetset.nl/archive/the-session.html The link to the documentray is at the bottom. http://www.helveticafilm.com/ | |||||

I'm always kind of amused by it and I like that feeling of amusement occassionally. I also have a Michael Graves pepper grinder with a peanut on it. It cheers me up every morning when I make scrambled eggs for me and my son. No, I do not my entire life reduced to amusements, just as I do not want a strict diet of comedy in movies. I like all the genres. I am not qualified to sa ... | |||||

| Early Russian + German modernists | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | HPau | General discussion | |
| ... "In the days when the pioneers of modern architecture were still young they thought like William Morris that architecture should be an ?art of the people for the people.? Instead of pandering to the tastes of the privileged few, they wanted to satisfy the requirements of the community. They wanted to build dwellings matched to human needs, to erect a Cité radieuse. But they had reckoned without the commercial instincts of the bourgeoisie who lost no time in arrogating their theories to themselves and pressing them into their service for the purpose of mone ... | |||||

| Has anyone Cranbrooked an iPod or a Nano yet? | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | dcwilson | General discussion | |
| I like dieter Ram and I guess if you have to compy design language to do design, dieter Ram is good to copy. But... But if its okay to knock off dieter in iPod/Nano forms, I reckon its okay to knock off Cranbrook language in an iPod/Nano, too. Is anyone doing this in an iPod, Nano, or MP-3 player? I really think a white iPod with a little teak trim would help me warm up to iPods and Nanos in a way that I have not been able to over the years. Another approach I could warm to would be an iPod/Nano/MP-3 made half the thickness of the current players and then fo ... | |||||

| Thanks for the thoughts Lucif... Thanks for the thoughts Lucifer, it is good to have you back. What if something is of high quality but made under poor conditions or from an endangered species, it might have some authenticity but thats about it, yes no? I'm not sure quality is all. I especially like that riff on the 670, it has a no nonsense quality to it, as though dieter Rams was made to redesign it at gunpoint. | |||||
