| well koen i bought a really nice german car (so called high class) but a cup holder was missing! didnt fit with its car sportive image. a year later i could built one in. well okay a cupholder is something i really need, i always drink (soda) while driving. but when i am standing 2h in a traffic jam from ghent to brussels (55km) i do not have enough with one can, so why not a build in refridgerated bar?, usb port (already avalaible in some cars) will be unmissible (to play mp3's), a connection to get your blackberry/pda/ipod -ipod nano holder- been seen on y ... | |||||

| George Nelson still remains a hero of mine. i am shocked that he didnt do the lamps either. who did the kangaroo and the daybed? i am asking because i am already this deep..and im interested. george nelson ... a great writer and a great producer of modern design. i can view his role as a producer...like a music producer. my producer does not write my songs ... he takes the idea and uses his ear/knowledge to mold it into a ready to sell product. i wonder if any other MCM favorites were setup like the GN office. The eames? i have read enough about them to know ... | |||||

| every time i have tried to... every time i have tried to sell (or have sold) an item on eBay I have had trouble from people asking loads and loads of questions without bidding..asking to measure every little thing and to take many additional pics. Seems like too much hassle. A sofa seems like a nightmare to sell on there, considering the shipping.... when i bid i know what i am looking at. at most i may ask for an extra photo, only if they didnt photograph the item properly. | |||||

| ... are actually the current mainstream and cliche. If you didnt realise it everybody want to be different and elegant so they buy a white or beige sofa. This is the mainstream , actually more than 70% of sofas sold are white or beige. The rest are the next two mainstram colours , chocolate and anthracite. The sofa brand you've mentioned are actually mainstream copies for the masses. They mostly copy cappellini and B&B .Certainly cappellini and B&B sofas dont have steel frames but solid wood(to start with) Anyway as your walls are white (absolute neutral) your onl ... | |||||

| only one chanel chanel not only designed clothes that changed the way women look but she also changed the way women think of their selfs. She was the first designer that introduced trousers to women and the first designer who designed unisex clothes. I think she liberated women, she was and will be one of the greatest designers. And when she was asked why didnt she marry one of the richest guys in europe witch she was in love with she answerd that their are so many rich people and dukes in europe but their is only ONE CHANEL. | |||||

| oh yes, also...we should... oh yes, also...we should keep in mind that most of these pieces were designed a very long time ago....when the concept of "comfort" was very different (due to materials available, construction methods etc), when what was asked of them was different (many pieces were designed for single buildings and single uses) and in some cases were designed for different body types....at times, smaller body types. i read recently that the biggest complaint that new yorkers had about the subways was the small size of the old yellow/orange seats. ... | |||||

| middle east design in middle east except for deisgners and archtitects no one else knows about moder designs or "design in general" people dont realy care about modern design, schools and colleges dont teach design "only drawing classes at school" and an avarage person barley knows who painted the monalisa. everything we have from furnitures and home appliences is exported from europe or far east. the only modern designer from the middle east that i know is Karim Rashid "didnt belive that he is eygption at first". Architecture in the place i live "gulf" is nice if u look at each building individuly but as a whole its horrible. you can find high tech building, islamic style bldings, neo vernacular, indian stlyle, modern and everything else you want all in one small city. names like le coubesier, eams and stark dont realy mean anything to them. prople think that the more expincive the product is the better it is | |||||

| Following up on that new piece of info, I did come across some documentation connecting Kofod-Larsen with these pieces. This Selig catalog, said to be from early 1960's, is for their Jutland Group collection designed by Kofod-Larsen. There are a number of pieces for sale online stating they were made by Brande Mobelfabrik but I didnt see any that showed marks, apart from the Danish Control disc. One listing by UK seller Pure Imagination says the line was made by Brande in Denmark and separately by Selig in the USA. They, and others, say the design is ... | |||||
