Just as comfortable, just as cool looking and you didnt have to worry about actually using it because it was only 1/4 the price. The Modernica shell chairs are another example, real fiberglass, same molds and much better looking than the plastic mostrosities that are actually licensed. | |||||

| paulanna It did not look... paulanna It did not look like the black was the original finish. it was quite obvious applied afterwards because it had large smear marks, expecially on the lower shelf. i assumed this table original finished was in birch as some were and decided to remove the stain. I am attending an evening restoration class at the london metropolitan and this table is used as a project. The tutor suggested the button polish. he unfortunitly didnt realise the tables value and would not have recomended bleaching it. i was looking for suggestions ... | |||||

| ... at getting all the details... down to the spaces between wood...the curves, the base/height...you get it. So watch what you buy. And I also want a label when its an item of that price and something that is often replicated. See this website Below. They sell a replica 670/671 that looks so close to Vitra. What they did (after speaking with someone from Manhattan designs) was simple...took the exact measurements of the HERMAN MILLER 670 and the Base style of VITRA so there would be no legal issues. If you didnt know, the HM version is a little more rounded the ... | |||||

| nothing wrong with the lamps I personally do not like the one with the cones (looks like Laurel possibly)but the one with the boomerang base is cool. I didnt look at all the pics he has of it but I am pretty sure they usually came with a diffuser that clips onto the bulb. Usually they are missing though. | |||||
| An opinion | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | TinyArmada | General discussion | |
| An opinion I'm well aware c. Jere is a duo and produced jewelry before metal art, it's just gets to be a pain to find the right pronouns when discussing it. Some people buy old pieces because they actually like them and not for the cash value. We love our piece very much and we are glad it was produced in the era we collect furniture from. I love atomic orbits and other cosmic themes - if done well - and this piece IMO is just that. I do agree most of the stuff I see "artisan house" producing today is godawful crap. I've never been a big fan of C Jere stuff ... | |||||

| Those big beds are nixed. didnt take into account that there is no way those haedboards would fit in the elavator or stairwell of my building. So Lunchbox, what the deal with the Nelson headboards? You can't just attach a regular old cheap metal bed frame to them? | |||||

| woody I have one of these and yes, it has the circular Selig label underneath. didnt know it was Kofod-Larsen as I was never able to confirm a designer? I dont see it in the furniture index under Kofod-Larsen but then again I am not sure that everything is actually in the index. | |||||

| It looks like It looks like the wood is 'submerged' (for lack of a better word) under the fabric. Which, as SDR suggested, might be the work of a less-skilled upholsterer who didnt know how to handle the original V'd armests shown. | |||||

| Thank you! Thank you for the insight on this. I didnt think it was rare but I have yet to see it on Ebay or anywhere else. I did try to research on the web, but as one knows, the minute you type in Eames+chair+shell or other keywords, one ends up searching through the proverbial haystack. I really appreciate the feedback! | |||||
