| red aniline LCM chairs | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | rockybird | General discussion | |
| Does anyone know much about these? I found a couple for sale and I thought they were very nice. They were also very expensive. Are these rare? Because of the price, I didnt look closely at them, but thinking of going back to look at them again. Is there anything I should look for specifically? They have black legs, and I doubt they have the label. Thank you! | |||||

| GN clock 4762...can it be painted? | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | rockybird | General discussion | |
| I won this at the LA auction last weekend. I didnt realize I had won until today. I could have sworn I had bid less. Anyway, I am looking at the picture of the clock closer and I see that it needs paint. I have never seen one of these in person. Does anyone know if it can be painted? Has anyone seen this clock with the wood base? The shop that fixed my last gn clock does not paint, so not sure who to take it to. Thanks! http:// | |||||

| Dundar and Edward Wormley conoisseurs! | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | jola | General discussion | |
| ... this cart. I dont know very well american of martinsville but this cart seems a little too dark urban and manly. I was browsing some Edward Wormley coffee tables and found some striking style similarities with my cart. After googling "Edward Wormley wheels" i found some of his carts for Dunbar. It looks more like that than A o M tome. Apparently there's some literature on Wormley at/and Dunbar i should get my hands on. There's no Dunbar plaque i could find. No hole too for such a plaque. Maybe i didnt look in the right spot. Where should be the plaque? Also ... | |||||
| What is my authetic Knoll barcelona chair set worth | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| I have this currently on ebay, based on the condition, what do you think is a fair/market clearing price for these chairs + ottoman? The chairs I have are in fair to medium condition, the chairs need reupholstered (the ottoman leather is fine) and there are faint scratches on the frames. The chairs are stamped and the original tags are attached to the cushions. ------------------ Link removed by DesignAddict: Please don't advertise your eBay listings on the forum. Thanks. Sorry, didnt know that was not allowed, I will update the post. | |||||
| Craigslist find | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | rockybird | General discussion | |
| So maybe I didnt get a steal of a deal, but all in all I think it was a fair deal. Plus he delivered it and I got the hanging bird thing, all for $480. 🙂 Dont judge the house too harshly, as I am finishing a god-awful remodel, and some things are still not finished. That makes three desks for me now (not counting the fraudulent Milo Baughman campaign desk)- two Mccobb's and a Stanley Young/Baughman desk. My desk fetish is now satisfied! Lately, I have been thinking more about clocks... | |||||
| MCM products that dont require labels to prove authenticity? | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | rockybird | General discussion | |
| ... But the tag was missing. I didnt buy it, although I did buy a Planer Group Mccobb desk (with the label). 🙂 So, I was wondering what products you all consider to not nessesitate the label to verify authenticity? In other words...products that are so distinctive and non-replicated that labels are not necessary. Thanks! | |||||
| George Nelson Platform Bench real or not? | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | jbnickovich | General discussion | |
| I recently aquired a nelson slat bench from an estate sale. It does not have the foil tag, but I believe it to be authentic. It has small dowels on the under side of the platform holding the finger joints together. Any information would be helpful. Also should I refinish this since 95% of the original clear coat is gone? I didnt know if it would deminish the value or make it more valuable. I am able to send photos to anyone who knows these benches well. Thanks! | |||||

| Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair ? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Does anybody have any thoughts on the authenticity of this egg chair? Took a punt on it as it was priced really cheaply. I thought the shape looked very good as did the "wave" stitching on the upholstery, although I didnt think the base seemed quite right. Clearly has some age to it but no labels or markings to be found anywhere. Many Thanks | |||||
| Kai Kristiansen Kidney desk - made in Canada??? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | Scandiman | General discussion | |
| I just purchased a Kai Kristiansen kidney desk through a local CL posting (Toronto). The sellers were an older couple who were downsizing - they obviously didnt know it was designer piece and told me that they had originally purchased it in the late 1950's. Original owners. Now that i have the desk temporarily moved into my garage, I realized two oddities. The first being that the drawers are not dove tail constructed. Secondly, there is a 'Made in Canada' ink stamp on the bottom. I know that Danish furniture makers often contracted the assembly of their ... | |||||
