| ... Go get the Lazboy, it’s objectively more comfortable, and they have a lifetime warranty on frame/springs/mechanism. Keep the Eames chair because it’s a nice symbol of your wife’s love for you, and it’s not so bad, after all. Hi objectworship, Thank you for your input. Regarding the clunk Herman Miller advised me yesterday that it is outside their tolerance and so they are making arrangements to have the base replaced. With my original post I was essentially embarking on a fact finding mission. I was being relayed a message from the factory (supposedly) ... | |||||

| Hi guys, I am considering buying this table and was hoping you could give me your two cents about whether this is a real or replica Vintage Knoll Saarinen Oval Marble Pedestal dining Table -78". Initially, I didn't have any concerns because its a reputable seller and the table looked great overall and has a label (Knoll 1950s 575 Madison address), but once the seller sent me photos of the base and attachment, I got antsy. The seller said they replaced "the large wood platform under the marble." I have no clue whether this is a red flag, or if this is just w ... | |||||

| Again, David, I'm not arguing with any of that. I did a lot of homework before buying mine, but with one glaring exception; I didn't spend enough time sitting in one. It's no surprise to me that some new owners of these sets, no matter the vintage, are disappointed. Hence, the "subjective" part. P.S. Without a mirror, you can't see one square inch of that gorgeous figured rosewood when you're actually using these chairs! | |||||

| ... I had never sat in one before and was extremely excited for it to arrive but, ever since it did, it's been incredibly disappointing. I'm not looking for people to tell me how amazing their chairs are but really to let me know if yours share any of the below attributes or if I'm on my own here. When I've reported these items to Hive Modern in the past they have said they're to be expected and the same was pretty much true of a conversation I had with Herman Miller this afternoon. The thing is, when I detailed these attributes in a review on Hive Modern's ... | |||||
| Extendable dining table | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | sanderdj93 | Identification | |
| Dear experts! I just bought this extendable dining table. It's the first vintage piece of furniture I bought and I'm completely in love with it! Unfortunately the guy I bought it from didn't have a lot to tell about the table. Would you guys maybe have any knowledge about the table? I bought it in the Netherlands. The hinges have NED written on it, which stands for Nederland (Netherlands). The whole hinge reads NED.0C7.95787...no clue if it also tells something about the table. I can't find a brand or designer name on it anywhere. I'm very curious to find ou ... | |||||

| Thank you both very much. I agree the welding isn't anything to write home about, but I look the overall style. Much appreciated. And sorry for the slow reply - I didn't get a notification to say you had posted so it was only by logging in that I realised you had got back to me! | |||||

| Thanks for that Lexi. I seem so perturbed in the post, it is rather unbecoming. I think I remember this one, ... the OP was arguing with Leif on why the chair was BM, then didn't like Leif's answer, so he re-posted his question again hoping for an answer he liked better, ..... or maybe that was a different post, so hard to keep them all straight, and I can't get there through the above link anymore... | |||||

| So apparently the red is original! Actually called Cinnabar and it also came in yellow. Sets were painted when the original teak didn't match well or 2nds. | |||||
