| no markings...just rust! 😉 Interesting that you think it could be Eames... I haven't looked under every chair, but on first glance didn't see any markings. Maybe I'll take them out into the sun to see if the bright light helps show something. The bolt pattern might be a clue of something - I have seen photos of Knoll chairs and there's no bolts - just a circular piece of hardware, I guess where the swivel is attached. | |||||

I use them as dog beds and tossed all over, even out on the deck. I have a new wool shag that i must have posted 6 months ago? Still shedding like a husky in summer. It's a bitch but thick and soft. Has a stiff and firm backing that will not bunch up or slip with dog play like a flokati. I have not thought about its cleaning : ( but i keep a couple of the 4x4 flokati squares on the favorite dog napping area. Similar ...

Just enjoy it and share any info if you find. I searched a bit a couple years ago but realized it is just another interesting 60's conglomeration of the era. Is yours working? If you have trouble getting it running, please ask. I've rebuilt one and know it's fussiness. The one i have working is at the top of the stairs. Epoxy is gap-filling to a degree not found in many glues -- though Titebond II and III waterproof yellow glues (III is dries tan) are good in this way as well, as they shrink less than regular yellow glue. Each adhesive has its place. I like PVA ("white glue") for laminating and veneering, e.g. in the vacuum press, because it seems to have the excellent properties ...

I like it! 🙂 ........I wouldn't call it "La Mesa Grande Brutal" but "La Nave Espacial Brutal" would find it as a big commpliment 😉 I know I used the relationship style/use, but I admit that's not much fair: The use of building (house/church/library/shopping center) is not related to the style. When an architect is descontructivst or whatever, will 'do it for any use. Provably the best can do is to manage somehow to use the best of that stly for that use. But's not what I wanted to point, It's important to understand each movement in it's own historic contex ...

| Thanks TCHP, Yes that... Thanks TCHP, Yes that chair is definetly by Jalk, my chair has exactly the same frame until you get to the arms where instead of the characteristic sweeping whale bone arm it has a simple straight piece of timber that the upholstered section sits upon. My chair is produced by France & Son. I am 99 percent sure it is by Jalk but as I said I had seen a couple of different sources on the net describing them as Juhl. I searched through the index before I started this thread but I didn`t find a match by either Jalk or Juhl. | |||||

What's the difference expresionism-brutalism? I like many of the one's posted. Nick's old Tricorn Centre, I love it. The problem was provably to choose it for a Mall-shopping centre, being un-popular..., must be a cultural center or something like that. A pity. did somebody went there? | ... economic power - then we see that this country didn't fare very well with this policy of relentless privatization and reduction of government presence. This process plunged a great part of the population into a situation of poverty unknown until then, and led to an income concentration with the corresponding bipolarization of the society divided in two groups: the excluded and the included. Privatization in this context is synonymous with de-democratization because the victims of this process have never been asked whether they approved the credits and sales ...

It's been a constant thing for the entire 18 years of our marriage. If you want something other than black, how about buying an acrylic stand and having it painted? I'm pretty sure automotive paint would bond well to that surface.

I'll email my brother-in-law a pic of that and see if he can possibly do something in a similar type of design...now that he knows what I'm trying to ask for. He clued me into the AquaVim aquariums. They have some wood stands that are nice with a modern style, but it was just too much wood for my taste. I want wood in the set-up but I don't want to be totally over-powered ny it. That's what I like about the pic you posted. It's got wood accents but it also has other materials to break up the ...

But they only work if they are going to be sitting up against a wall because they have a black back and dowels on the back. So basically, something doesn't have to be designed as a side table to work and look good in that capacity. Likewise, you could use a really cool stool if storage space isn't a necessity. On my deck, my side table is a neat wooden planting pot I found at a yard sale, that I ...

| I had the same problem with... I had the same problem with the ice storm in February. didn't have power for over two weeks. That was after I got the tank up and running again after the wind storms from around December that knocked the power out for around two weeks also. I had just gotten the aquarium up and running only to lose everything again. At least, I only had a couple of small fish and a few inverts that time. I hadn't really considered painting an acrylic base. I'm not the hugest fan of the shiny black acrylic stands. That's one of the first s ... | |||||
