I asked him about the table when I bought it, and he didn't have that much to say, other than he thought they didn't make them for very long and that it will collectible one day. I didn't pay much for it and he clearly didn't think it was anything that special.

| ... was a lot easier, but seagrass stretches with use and anyway, it wasn't what Wegner used on the Wishbones or rocker. Rush (paper or natural) may work better, but again, not what Wegner used. The problem is that papercord is stiff and you need something soft and flexible to do all the 90 degree bends in this weave. It might help to soak it first. I tried that and it helped but I still couldn't get the perfect 90 degree accuracy. Maybe I didn't soak it long enough...? I seem to remember that there was a fine line between soaking just enough and soaking a ... | |||||

| The lady at HM never seeing... The lady at HM never seeing a base like this doesn't say much. HM has had so many different iterations of products it's not even funny. For example, when I had an Eames 3473 sofa I read about it's construction in the Eames Design book. According tot he book, the seat was made of ply covered with foam and dacron, AND had a spring system like the compact (why would it have spring system and ply I dunno?). But mine simple had canvas straps on the bottom, and so did the one other I've seen. Go figure. The person I spoke with at HM ... | |||||

| well thankyou the chair was sold to an individual who didn't care that it was a frankinstien, i was completely honest with her why i couldn't keep and she said she had no concern that there wasn't a label and knew it was real, besides ive saved up and and now have enough to buy a brand new one, i really like that Alaska leather they offer, little pricey though, but it will retain its value well. | |||||

| In praise of "Green Design" The furniture company not the social design concept. SDR, I am the happy owner of one Doug Green's 'slide together' pieces. Actually I own the first ever produced of his Series 2 dining tables. It's a marvel. Sustainably harvested, solid cherry, and it goes together with nary a nail in sight, just two little stainless steel pins to anchor the top. We broke it down and moved it cross country quite easily. Sadly, Doug has moved on to other endeavors and has closed his furniture design business. I guess quality flat pack didn't quite ... | |||||

| I think we all agree... I think we're all in agreement that the chair is genuine. I'm just saying it didn't leave the factory with that hardware. Yes, spec changes are made over the years, but those little screws holding the headrest connectors are just plain wrong, and should be replaced. There's a reason the Eames' used those penny-sized screw heads. The screw heads need to distribute considerable moment without tearing the wood. I'm sure the nice people at HM will be happy to make available the appropriate fasteners. | |||||

As a designer for an appliance manufacturer, I can tell you that all my appliances have been "customized." Any appliance repairman would have an equally vexing time as you're having with your chair.

| Thanks for your input I'm pretty sure they're not Chromcraft as they would have basically that same type of mounting as Eames. As for the other, that didn't come up with any match either. Thanks anyway. | |||||

| I'm back... so sorry for the year delay! I just saw the Brown Saltman kangaroo chairs in a chic little store in Brentwood and googled it and didn't realize I had done all this over a year ago! For the person that wanted to know if my Uncle was Percy Soloty... Yes he was! He passed away about a year ago but I was so happy to be able to tell him how many people were still fans of the line he really made so beautiful and well respected! | |||||
