| Coincidence The last pieces of furniture I disposed of were also Wassily chairs; I sold them five years ago, along with an Eileen Gray E1027 replica, for $150 to the kid from next door who was moving to his own apartment. I'd had them for nearly a decade, in five houses and condos, but they just didn't look right no matter where I put them. I was glad to see them go to a person who'd appreciate them. | |||||

| My much loved Wassily chairs Sadly, they just didn't work in our new home...I am much more in love with my Womb chair and I just didn't have a good spot for the Wassilys. Luckily, I was able to barter them with my builder. I got upgrades to our new house and he has two cool chairs to stage his modernist pueblo style homes with. | |||||

| ... one tiny dish, cup and saucer. No, no, my dream dollhouse will be a Christmas gift from me to me and will reside in the middle of the round glass coffee table, like a piece of art. I didn't know it was available at Unica. I found it here, along with a compatible doll family, although I am wishy-washy over this particular set because their eyeballs give me the creeps. Anybody have any other suggestions for doll house people that don't look like speed freaks? http://www.brincadada.com/ | |||||
| isnt that so odd? | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | MadHaus | General discussion | |
| isnt that so odd? it is french? would there be a difference control is also spelt controle* i just noticed Maybe it was because over there the modern competition didn't start happening till these days with vitra and the many other companies that produce iconic rip offs But i have been studying the chair and everything about it looks right, minus the fact there are no bottom markings.... but all the shaping and lighting it has a right. | |||||

| My stool indeed is marked BR51. It is bizarre that Knoll didn't mark these pieces since Burke and other companies started making imitations almost immediately..... | |||||
| I was only suggesting the superiority of new vs old | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | william-holden-... | General discussion | |
| I was only suggesting the superiority of new vs old in mentioning Tour De France bikers. I didn't mean to suggest that one needed to have THE fastest, lightest Tour De France-appropriate bike available; only that new modern bikes are far better rides-- which is what riding's about. I myself have a light, functional mountain bike. There's nothing inherently more functional about new furniture vs old furniture. | |||||

| Perforated steel panels allow air circulation | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| Perforated steel panels allow air circulation is a nice alteration from the original. My flat mate had a vintage pair of the thin edge twin bed and i used one of them for awhile until he sold them. Under the mattress instead of that perforated steel was wavey steel springs that didn't provide much support. (Of course, the bed was conceived to have a thin foam rubber mattress...) By the way, the vintage thin edge beds didn't have any headboard. I still like the newness and freshness of the Alpine bed. | |||||

| My only photo...... My only photo... err...negative, and was found in book I purchased. Appears to be a Steelcase knock off of an Eames. This past weekend I came across a small stack of Nelson bubbles, Eames chairs etc. didn't buy, not my thing. Should I see them again, will photograph them for you. | |||||
| Pegboard, you | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | Riki | General discussion | |
| Pegboard, you must really be homesick if you are waxing nostalgic over kudzu! This time of year you should be thinking about butter beans, collards, buttermilk biscuits and deep-fried turkey. P.S. Whitey, you still didn't answer my question r.e. hog-wire. Is it a chain-link fence or chicken-wire? | |||||

| Hmmm...don't really feel... Hmmm...don't really feel like digging the coffeemaker out from the back of the cabinet. Yes, back of the cabinet. I hate coffee so do all my siblings and mother. I didn't even have a coffeemaker until my mom got me a cheapy one for any company that might want coffee. It's been used about two to three times in 5yrs. I usually don't offer coffee to most company...friends, etc. They all know my dislike for coffee. I offer other beverages. Not even sure I know how to make coffee. I know you put that ground up coffee stuff in ... | |||||
