| . I got very, very lucky to come by the old receipt. Magiccityfinds, Henry, posted a chair for identification (thread linked below), and by random coincidence it was sitting on top of a desk, on top of a detached leaf of a dining table. (Image linked below). The leaf was visibly solid teak, which is quite suggestive, as there are few other solid teak dining tables, and it had Aasbjerg's signature double bevel, "bullet edge." And it turns out he had the original receipts for the whole estate of furniture, which all was sold through Excellent Furniture Compan ... | |||||

| OK Modman, I am sure they are a good match. I was being weird. Sorry. You didn't say anything that could be construed as malice at all. I have a bunch of chairs because... well, just because, and out of about 35 shells, accumulated over 25 years, I make about six or seven decently matched pairs, just based on looks, from various chairs found far and wide. I like to rotate them in the special PAIR spot of honor in my living room. And every few months I break out another pair. But then there are also 4 "authentic" pairs, that have been pairs all of their live ... | |||||
| Leather Honey on Siesta Chair's leather | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | kin1117 | General discussion | |
| ... application was a little messy; it's very thick. People recommended to use our bare hands to apply it onto the leather. I let it sit overnight, and when I saw it again this afternoon, I was a little concerned whether the stickiness could actually be buffed off. It was honestly a little difficult in the beginning, but as I kept at it, the stickiness was removed. What's left was a great shine and a different level of suppleness to the leather. It's softer to the touch as well. Overall, a very recommended product. Some people complained about Leather Honey mak ... | |||||

| THANKS - everyone I went to HD to check out the options and they didn't have the GOO I was looking for, so I purchased a small bottle of the Citristrip, which as also fairly well reviewed. Slathered it on. 12 hours later, NOT BAD. Took off the top layer fairly easily, another application might be pretty effective. Mr SANDMAN returned my call and will come assess the situation. He says that he has done many similar removals with great success. He understands my concern for the bricks themselves and thinks he can likely remove the paint in a safe manner. F ... | |||||

| Ok, I just called 1stdibs about the white sculpture, (maybe as to purchase to find out some info). I spoke with a girl who didn't know much, but took measurements and was very helpful in the end. The price on this one is $15,000. I first asked her about the dimensions. The base is 5" x 5" x 1-1/2" high. I then asked her what the bottom of the base looked like. She put me on hold, then flipped it over and rustled around for a second, then came back and said solid and smooth all the way across. I then asked her what it looks like where it groups into the base. ... | |||||

| . Would do well I think, isn't black printers inks soy based now? Was it true black with the ink or indigo? Just from memory should something called a mordant be applied to the cord prior? Australian hardwoods can have very high tannin content but the result just didn't satisfy and black japan was just blah. | |||||

| Ah yes. I had only searched... Ah yes. I had only searched in danish and swedish for a translation. Revisor means auditor in Swedish, but inspector in Spanish makes more sense. didn't even notice the Abril abbreviation before. I think the desk is going to remain a mystery. Nice looking none the less. | |||||

| Yep And r"evisor" is inspector and "no." is the abbreviation for number. In Spanish and Portuguese. I read right through this post after reading the Spanish news and didn't realize I wasn't seeing a Spanish ( or Portuguese) quality control tag. | |||||

| Best possible resolution. Illustrates a commitment on HM's part to ongoing customer service. Good on them. I just wish that when the shock mounts started popping off my set of DCMs, they could have come up with a solution that didn't involve shipping all of the chairs back to MI at my expense. | |||||

| ... bidding off for every item as well. I wasn't fooled, and didn't buy a thing. I wasn't about to get caught up in the bidding. I'm assuming large dealers have some sort of a deal with the auctioneer that the more they buy, the bigger discount they get. 3 dealers in particular were buying EVERYTHING with no regard to what they were spending. If they are making a profit at what they were paying, god bless them. I've seen the same stuff sell for much less at other local auctions. That's a better bet for sure. I won't waste my time with this auction in the future ... | |||||

| ... of the british danish style furniture makers very well. Nor do I ever see that ilk here so I am completely at sea with the Brits. Do these Brits use the Darth Vader helmet doorstop? Onno: you are probably right that the third, unmarked "Gustav Bahus" piece is Wilhelm Renz. didn't catch that last night. Thanks! One other very tiny clue I've turned up is another exemplar in New Jersey, USA. Makes me ask myself, if I can find only two exemplars, both in the US, then it is probably common for them to have been exported to the USA. Link below. I am completely ... | |||||

| ... think this was her father. I also have the husband and son. I like them a lot. Got the bottles at an auction, too. None of these was more than $10. Second one is one of my favorites! Also from an auction for a whopping $7. What a treasure for so little money. I call the third one "Tommy Lee". His eyeball is just black paint for some reason. Maybe the artist didn't know how to paint eyes or maybe he/she was gonna get around to it later and never did. Whatever, I like him as is. | |||||

| I can second that. Once editing was enabled, that matter (of the search function) rose on my wish list. I can sometimes get to where I want to go, but it's a struggle . . . That said, there isn't any other discussion forum like this one, as far as I know. And it has survived previous periods of inappropriate posting by trolls -- some of whom were quite persistent. As I recall it, my first post was dismissed by someone -- who I had no way of knowing, at that moment, was a bad actor. And I was brand new on the Internet ! But I didn't go away.
