That twee little head pillow looks like an invention of the upholsterer. It looks pretty much flat, so I don't know what kind of comfort it adds, and the huge silky drapery tie-back tassel in back probably hangs by a silky rope-style cord, also used for drapery tie-backs. The top seam of the pillow is very puckered; whoever made it didn't clip the curve nearly enough. The ch ...

| leif ericson, Dear Lord my man, you are a inexhaustible fountain of knowledge. You just talk me a lesson, pay close attention to the details. Years ago I read something about July 1, 1963 & zip codes, but obviously it didn't stick with me. I'm going to put this info into my long term memory this time around. Thanks for helping me once again & Happy Holidays Peruche | |||||

| Amazing refurbish on the Dux! I just found two Arthur Umanoff bar stools (same as yours) at Goodwill and got them for peanuts (more baseball references). When I got them outside into better light I saw that they didn't have the natural unfinished wrought iron legs, but rather what looked to be a powder coat in a deep brown color. Is this common on Umanoff pieces?? Don't think they are knockoffs.....hope not. | |||||

| Wow. Kitty definitely had an edge to her. CW cuts right to it, huh. No BS-ing around. AND it makes me cry. A plus. Nice to know I can come here and play that whenever I want now. Thanks Mark! PS: Its even better because of the guitar intro. I think every CW song in the world starts like that. I like George Jones too. (his nickname was "no show Jones" cause he was always wasted and didn't show up to his gigs) But I bet Kitty showed up to EVERY gig. You know Kitty was a true professional. Even if more "rough" or "less minimalistic" - I agree, I personaly found similar design details / "signature" details as the "C-form" cuttouts in the back leather on each side to leave space for the armrests (Spanish, Hunting) ; the way you can remove the leather back easily; the type of wood assembling in the "corners" bewteen amrrests & feet (2256 chair), the materials, etcetera... | Yes -- maybe no. Wait -- maybe yes -- or, maybe no. Maybe yes ! Interesting: I didn't know that C&W singers sing about each other. "I had a bay-bee -- she had one too, We had to get married, what else could we do ? 'Cause I lo-o-ove my bay-bee . . ." | |||||

| Jes: that suggests that it was a France and Daverkosen made chair put in the exhibition. A factory made chair in Niels Vodder's booth in the cabinetmakers guild exhibition. Bizarre. Finn didn't design anything new for Vodder this year. Niels Vodder designed his own credenza. And three years later Niels Vodder and Finn Juhl were no longer collaborating on designs. | |||||

| I had an issue with those nut-inserts turning and just used a strong epoxy (similar to JB Weld) to glue them back in place. I taped off the area around them so it didn't get messy. Worked fine, just don't over tighten and break them loose again. They sit a bit proud of the surface and there should be a black plastic washer that goes around them. Check McMasterCarr for "Rivet Nuts" or "Threaded Inserts" and find something close to replace what's you're missing. I think the ones on my naugahyde shell chairs are 1/4"-20. If you can fish the old ones out though ... | |||||

| Hello Eameshead, Sorry that you lost your message. It must have happened when a seller was posting a batch of 100 listings on the Buy & Sell section. The server had a short hiccup and unfortunately it didn’t keep your message. We are really sorry for that. Best, P&A | |||||

| CRAP. I just wrote a really long one, but I guess I took too long before hitting send (?) and it didn't post? Its just gone. Dammit. Shit. I hate that. I have to go too. Just letting you know I am not being rude. Patrick and Alix might be able to find it if there is a special place where timed out messages go to die. Crap. | |||||

And you didn't listen to Art Bell? My. That was some good am radio. Weird way fucked up Southwestern patter. Yes! It it was all true. I was Ann Margaret then. Your pal, Aunt Mark

Fun, when there aren't complete drawings of the building, and the guys who measured and photographed in New York were rushed and had blunt pencils, and didn't understand the value of full-frontal images (for confirmation of site measurements). If there are few drawings of the design how could the apprentices have constructed the existing model -- in 1940, of an unbuilt 1912 design ? Maybe they ate the drawings -- or fed them to the Taliesin crows and spar ...

A blimp, the teeming masses -- and Peter Marshall with great shades and two mics. What's not to like ? Thank you, dearest. Somewhere far above, a metal sphere zooms toward Earth. | I don't think it's Gino Safatti. If you look at his lamps in this style he didn't use exposed screws to connect the shades. It's a bit amateurish actually and makes me think this is some sort of "in the manner of" / knock-off. Even the Gerald Thurston Profile lights were a bit more elegantly designed. I could be wrong. I am, pretty often.
