| So...the neighbors dog ate my Norwegian Chair Cushion.... | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | iamkirk | General discussion | |
| So I picked up this chair a few weeks ago in LA. It's a Peter Wessel Lounger that I don't have much info about. It didn't end up fitting in the space I planned for it so my plan was to sell and I put it in my laundry room to free up space. So flash forward two weeks and I agree to watch my neighbors pup. I take my eyes off him for one minute and find him in the laundry room shredding the cushion. crap. Luckily he didn't touch the wood and the only thing that is injured is the cushion. It was original fabric and I assumed whoever bought it would reupholste ... | |||||
| Frederic Weinberg chair...or Pier 1? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | JLL | General discussion | |
| Got a pair of these chairs for free at the end of a yard sale here in LA. didn't know what they were but thought the design was wonderful and that they'd be great on my patio. Then saw they were all over the Internet, every single one claimed to be a mid-century Frederic Weinberg design and product. There they were on 1stdibs, a pair priced at $3900 USD (in much better condition than mine of course). But the version sold by Pier 1 Imports (mass market home furnishings chain stores here in the US) in the 1990s sure looks exactly like all the "Weinbergs" I see ... | |||||
| Florence Knoll Sofa details... ? | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | Protorio | General discussion | |
| ... tufting. The sofa apparently dates from the early 60s or so -- any of these details raise questions regarding authenticity? Seems bona fide, but I can't find anything about these details online. A dealer I know said the original leather didn't have buttons. Knoll is unresponsive. Thanks! | |||||

| Lit Up, If you search "Baldwin Acrosonic Danish" on google images, you'll find a handful of pictures, like this one that has the original bench with it. I didn't get the original bench with mine, but almost talked a piano store into selling me theirs. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pianoworks/3127720739/ | |||||

| I am trying to find some feet or castors for the Tulip chair (Kill production). Has anyone found suitable replacements before? I didn't really want to go for something new, but looks like I may have to if I can't source OEM style replacements. Pic of a chair below (not mine but same base) | |||||

| Can anybody tell me if the Eames DKR wire chair ever get issued with the heavy black H base? Found one today and everything really looks like it was made this way and not bastardized at some point. Sorry I didn't get a pic; I was walking with the 6 mo. old and couldn't get to the camera. Thanks! | |||||

It was taped to the shell with what appears to be masking tape. - There is sturdy wire sewn into the fabric to snap the upholstery to the shell. - There didn't appear to be any glue holding the fabric to the shell. - There are no holes in the fiberglass shell. - It is not a rope-edge. - The shell front is a butter-yellow color. - The shell back is painted dark gray or black. - The base is a swivel base with shock mounts. - The only marking on the shell is the Herman Miller logo embossed on the underside. - There is a tag attached to t ... | |||||
| Chrome floor lamp ID - looks a lot like Raak but ... | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | gertvt | Identification | |
| This is bothering me for a few weeks now... Bought this floor lamp (Belgium) few weeks ago. I didn't need one, but it was triggering me and only EUR 20. I thought it was Raak (funnel form), but a) I have never seen/couldn't find another (Raak) lamp that holds the spheres the same way b) the funnel has a hyperbolic shape, while lamps by Raak have a more straight funnel But I'm don't know alot about Raak, so I was looking for any help. | Widdicomb "Sundra" bedroom set.... not Nakashima???? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | staceyneil | General discussion | |
| Hi- I have a cool-looking bedroom set that knew was well-made (being Widdicomb) but didn't believe to be worth much. We were going to let our teenage daughter use it, which ENSURES that it will get wrecked, have nail polish and oil paints spilled on it, etc. HOWEVER- we just noticed it's marked "Sundra". An exhaustive Google search turned up NO references to "Widdicomb Sundra" that do NOT credit Nakashima. It doesn't LOOK like a Nakashima design. But the markings.... it's from 12/59. Laurel and Walnut with brass pulls. Same cloth label the Nakashima stuff ha ... | |||||
| Please help identify this Modern lamp / table combination | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | camano_island | General discussion | |
| Bought this out of an estate sale, and can't find any info on it. The seller's late wife had bought it, and he didn't know. It stands just shy of 5 feet tall, and has no markings anywhere. The base and vertical parts are metal; the table top is molded fiberglass. The globe is plastic, soft to the touch but strong and durable. The cord is thick, like the kind on an older vacuum cleaner, which led my wife to believe it may have been intended for outdoor or patio use. Any information would be most helpful! | |||||
| Noguchi Cylinder lamp | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | Lunchbox | General discussion | |
| I want one, dammit. I know this could go on the Radar. But honestly, I'd rather have a recent production for the Akari store rather than an early example. Anyone have one or know of a vendor who has one? Why I didn't spend $150 on one a couple years back I've no idea. Cheers. | |||||
| Help ID my chair - Ain't she a beauty (w/pic) | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | Kyle | Identification | |
| I found this chair languishing in a downtown bar and made the owner an offer. He didn't seem to know its origins or designer I suspect it has been reupholstered but I'd like to do it justice and restore it to its former original glory. Any ideas where or who it is from? also need an idea on original material and colour. Many thanks all! | |||||

| Found this glass topped (Italian?) table with musical instruments on it at an auction I was attending. Went for it, but in the end it was just too rich for me as I didn't have any info on it. Any thoughts? did I just miss a valuable piece? There where 2 dealers really at it for this one! Sorry about the pics, they were taken on my phone. Apple should really upgrade the camera!
