| Advice. Herman Miller Padded Shell Chair. | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | Rogue01 | General discussion | |
| ... I didn't take any photos of the underside of the chair as it wasn't the only thing I was distracted by at the time. If you're unable to see clearly, the seams are splitting along either side of the interior of the seat. Padding seems to be in good enough shape, however. Given the price, and recognition that some upholstery work would be required, would you still consider the chair a good value and worth purchasing? Is there anything I should be looking for in particular to make my evaluation easier? Thank you all so much. I love the chair and would love to ... | |||||

When I got them back, I sent the sofa to have the bracket repaired. What came back, was all four legs on the sofa glued (!!!!). THEN, realized that the legs were all wrong. If you sit on the sofa, you're sliding down to the floor. And the chair - it's lower than a toilet seat! I don't even know where to begin to repair them. I guess the higher legs should be at the front? Lower at the back? I don't know what to do, so any feedbac ...

| Kandya Jason Chair Carl jacobs Guille | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | metropolis2 | General discussion | |
| Hi, I have a 1950s Kandya Jason chair and wondered if anyone knows if plywood can be repaired? The back is a bit warped - can you re bend it back to shape some how? The seat edge also has a small square piece about 1 inch that has come off and the glue holding it together didn't do the trick as my partner sat on the old repair and it came off. Can this be repaired? Appreciate any advice. | |||||

We didn't bring it up until right before the doors opened, when the woman became irate that we didn't believe they should get the front of the line simply because they'd placed hats on the steps at 11:30 the previous evening. Anyway, the lady running the sale asked everybody to be polite and figure it out ourselves. Feeling that the guy who arrived fifteen minutes before me should get the sideboard we all came to snag, I positioned him shoulder-to-shoulder with the burly, trashy man who stood in front of h ...

Guessing if you wanted a desk and bottom cabinet you'd have to buy five bays at close to 10k. You can buy one bay "extension units" with just four shelves for $1775. Pretty disappointing. Wonder why they didn't take advantage of the market of people looking to add to their systems and sell hardware, cabinets, vertical wall strips, etc on their own? Not as flexible as one would hope. | Help ID Upholstered Lounge Chair ...please | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | nico leo | Identification
| I keep coming up with items that no one can ID but I'm hopeful this one is different. I picked up 3 of these yesterday, they appear to have been reupholstered at some point so any and all tags are missing. The chairs have a swivel with return mechanism and the legs are solid cast bronze. The legs have a distinctive look and I am really hoping someone recognizes them. They came out of an office with quite a bit of Danish furniture but searching Danish lounge chairs on Google didn't really help. | |||||
| Laurel Telescoping Lamp Sliding (help?) | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Hello, I recently purchased a Laurel telescoping floor lamp at auction. I've seen them before where the telescoping part just slides right down and was careful to check this one to make sure it held at any height. I thought all was well, but it didn't have a shade on it at the auction. As soon as I put even a very light weight shade on it, it slides right down and won't stay up at all. I don't see a set screw or any obvious way to fix the problem- I'm hoping that someone here has encountered and solved this problem? This is the lamp (not mine, but the d ... | |||||

| Does somebody knows designers who were working for Arrebo Møbler ? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | rob-in-the-wood | General discussion | |
| Hello, I'm looking for the designer name of a rosewood coffee table edited by Arrebo Møbler, probably in the 1960's. It's the same that you can find on this picture, but in rosewood. By the way, if you have some information about this firm, I'm interesting in because I didn't find many things about it... Thanks. (edited by DA - no links to items for sale please) | |||||

| I just acquired 6 Moller 71 side chairs and they stink like cigarettes! I didn't realize how bad the smelled until they rode home with me in the car. Is it possible to clean the paper corded seats without ruining them? Or could I just let them sit outside on the covered porch to air out for a long, long time? thanks so much! | |||||
| Anyone have an old Saarinen cushion they would sell? old/cracked/broken is fine... | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| I'm wanting to make some new cushions for my Saarinen arm-less tulip chairs. Originals are a tad expensive for me and the remakes don't look as good as I'd like. The original chair/table set that I bought didn't come with any cushions at all, so while I'd like to re-make some myself as close to originals as possible, It would be great to have an original one to base them off/compare shape etc too. If anyone has one lying around that they don't need please let me know and we can work something out. e: renevw24 at hotmail.com Regards René | |||||
