| hello everyone, I didn't write for a while... actually I have been doing a lot and I have a big news: I'm thinking, together with a collector, to open a design gallery, in a few months of time. Of course this post isn't at all about promotion, I just wanted you know what you love and what you hate in the galleries you follow online or visit personally... anybody feels like discussing this topic? many thanks! | |||||
| Italian side table | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Paolo G | Identification | |
| I've searched around to identify this table in brass and marble, but didn't find it anywhere. In same way the marble shape and the bi-colored legs remind me of Gio Ponti. Anyone knows anything? Thanks a lot in advance. Paolo | |||||
| Wassily Chair / B3 - Importance of the screws | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Swissish | Identification | |
| Hello to everyone As you will soon notice english is not my mother language since I am from Switzerland. However I am very pleased to be part of this forum - furniture is a (growing) passion for me. In this case I wanted to discuss about the famous Wassily Chair / B3 of Marcel Breuer. We all know the signs to detect a knock off and what to look for. No caps, good leather etc. We all know the history of the chair, from Thonet to Gavina and Knoll... But how important is the colour of the screws? I searched but didn't find a proper answer. In the ideal case you ... | |||||
| Le Corbusier Cassina LC 4 Special Edition | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | boyluk | Identification | |
| hello, I have got a LC 4 original Cassina, there are the marks on the tubolar chrome frame and on the black base, the serial number is 19 144. the particularity is that is bicolors and bimaterial, in fact the pillow and the footrest are made of black leather, while the mat is made by white fabric sewed at the end with the footrest, i didn't find anything on the web about this model. I suppose that coul be a limited edition for Charlotte Perriand because the colors can remember also the new model LC4 CP. Waiting your opinion. thank you Luca | |||||

| Help me finish restoring my rope-edge Eames DAX | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Hi everyone. I recently acquired a yellow rope-edge Eames DAX that had been painted THREE times. I stripped most of the paint off, but didn't completely finish because I noticed many of the fibers were coming out of the seat, arms, underneath the arms, etc. How do I finish the chair to make it once again usable and non-dangerous/itchy? I am wary to sand and apply Penetrol, but that seams like my only option right now. Thanks! | |||||
| Egg Chair possible Baughman | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | therye | Identification | |
| I bought this Vinyl swivel and tilt egg chair this weekend. It is made by Broyhill, but looks very similar to the Milo Baughman Swivel Egg Chair for Thayer Coggin. Obviously the cushions are different, but other than that the chair looks really close to the Baughman version. I even found a pic of the underside of the Thayer Coggin version and the mechanism and base look the same. I have seen Rago and other "reputable" auction houses have been selling the Broyhill scoop chair as a Milo design. Could this chair be a really rare Milo Baughman Broyhill Egg c ... | |||||
| Moller Extendable Table Identification | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | SandraG | Identification | |
| ... the register. I went back in the store today and the sales lady said the woman took it to HER store about 30 miles away....so, I trekked to her store to look at the items again. I was crawling around on the floor, trying to determine if there were any markings on the table, but the woman kept yelling, "What are you looking for?" I didn't dare take a picture. The prices have been marked up a bit, so I'm trying to get a more positive ID on the table before making the leap of purchasing. The table had some interesting hardware underneath, but I haven't found ... | |||||

| Knoll Pollock Chair Bases | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Hi Forum, Are the four-legged and five-legged bases on the Knoll Pollock chairs interchangable? I called Knoll, but they didn't seem to have an answer. Has anyone replaced a four-legged with a five-legged base on one of these chairs? I tried to swap the arms from a four-legged chair to a five-legged chair, and it didn't work, the screw hole on the newer chair was about .5' off. | |||||
