| ... design was intended to be highly cost competitive vs. traditional designs. Producers with the right to call their vintage modern designs authentic need to cut their prices, or quit complaining. They are creating the demand for copies by the prices they charge. Now, I know quality is often costly and so requires a high price to make a reasonable profit. But if one is selling quality, then one has to take good of high quality at a high price (high profit margins, low volume) with the bad (lots of knock-offs made like crap selling for diddly). | For cheap art, nothing beats a print of a great artist.'s work....Pt. 1 that was exceedingly simple in execution and which was basically intended to be a print. Matisse and Picasso late in their careers did some deceptively simple things. I just think they are wonderful. You get about 99.999 percent of the image quality of the original for almost no cost. I mean, Matisse was working with scissors and blue construction paper and Elmers there at the end and in some ways was at his most brilliant. A print may actually enhance these wonderfully childlike works. ... | |||||

| Thank you I believe you might... Thank you I believe you might be right. I looked up some chairs by Adrian Pearsall for craft and I did see a pair that has the similar wood armrest and i also seen one that didm't have the arm pieces but had what appear to be the same chair base. I guess I should spend the money to have it re-done as the foam is all hard in mine and the fabriv is dingy. | |||||

| Some points of view 1st, I/we would like too see the ad. To understand exactly what are you talking about. But I found the link below. I would see this from two or three different points of view. First point view Although I,m usually too distrusted, I would be near a more professional (advertisers/film makers/graphic designers) points of view. And Although I,m nothing of all this, Palermo Viejo, the neighborhood in which I work, have been "invaded" by international films/commercial/ad makers from all over the word, so I could learn a bit about this "world ... | |||||
| Suspected PK 33 stool arrived in the mail...It's a winner (I think)! | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | bj | Repair | |
| Hi everyone, A short while back I posted a question about a Kjaerholm stool, being authentic considering it didn't feature a center button. I bought the stool judging from a poor photo, on a secondhand site, from a neighboring country. It was described as 'nice leather ottoman' and that was it. Price was in within two numbers.. Got no answers on my questions, but closing the deal went ok and vendor was willing to send it by post. This weekend I received the package, removed the pillow and discovered the embossed mark. Hooray! 🙂 It misses it's rubbers, I assu ... | |||||

| Dan Johnson for Hayden Hall | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | Vwdoyle | Identification | |
| Hello everyone, Does anyone have any info on what Dan Johnson designed for Hayden Hall? The only pieces that come up are the angular dining table with matching chairs and the angular desk. I recently acquired a Hayden Hall dining table that has me wondering. There was an auction listing stating he designed several pieces but didn't specify what. Thanks for all your help! | |||||
| Wondering if these are Kai Kristiansen Rosewood Nesting Tables | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Policywonk | Identification | |
| Hi. I am a new DA member and this is my first time posting .... My husband and I bought these rosewood nesting tables in the early 70s (73 or 74 I think) at an auction for a furniture store closing. We didn't think to ask about the designer or manufacturer at the time. Now, I'm wondering if they might have been designed by Kai Kristiansen as the measurements and design of the 3 tables seem to match those for a listing I recently saw for a very similar set on an auction website that attributes the set to that designer. Unfortunately, there is no manufactur ... | |||||

Stage 1: Soaking and mild scrubbing with a trisodium phosphate (TSP) solution. This removed some dirt but did not whiten the yellowed areas. Stage 2: Twenty-four hours wrapped in TSP-saturated towels (see photo 1). Little change. Stage 3: Repeated applications of "Clorox Clean-Up," a bathroom spray cleaner containing bleach. The yellowed areas lightened but didn't disappear. Stage 4: Repeated applications of " ... | |||||
| Eames Rocking Chair Era/Authentication Check | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | gmr87 | Identification | |
| Stumbled across the forum while doing some research on an Eames rocker I purchased about a year ago. didn't pay much for it just curious about it's authenticity. Through my research I'm almost certain the base and rocker is a recent knock off/repro as the rocker is much skinnier than authentic eames rockers I have seen. To me the shell does seem like it could be authentic. I came across an article that some shells were covered in fabric and the back of the shell was painted black. Of course I don't see any markings because of the black paint. The shell colou ... | |||||
