| I didn't see the 81 the first | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | Eameshead | General discussion | |
| I didn't see the 81 the first time around… yes it is probably 1981. Side chairs from the 80s still had regular shock mounts. The mounts became thin wafers of rubber on some upholstered shells after that, but I haven't seen too many with NO shock mounts. At least not from 1981. The repro base does imply that it was changed up, so my guess is that it did lose its regular sized mounts. Do those bolts go through the chair seat? Looks like they would have to. | |||||

| I didn't, wish i had had to add back some of the warm honey tones that was faded and water damaged away. The cabinet was so dry it sucked up a can of watco Danish oil and still could take more! And that with it stilling for 15 min, wipe of the little excess and reapply. Who knows how many years it was in the barn it was found in up in Lancaster PA. | |||||

| Thanks, I didn't have a straight direction, just a lead. I do agree with you about the Kagan quality and design aspect. I just don't see these being a design by a mass production company as the compound angles and curves would be very costly for mass production, but on the other hand could just be a, like you said, admirer of the "Kagan-like " design and be just a one off by a craftsman. I will definitely do more research in hopes to finding out as much as I can before I just move on. Thanks Steve Atomic Junkies | |||||

| Well, you didn't supply a picture of your library tables, only the stamp on it. So I have no idea what your library table looks like and didn't mean to offend your taste in furniture, since I have no idea what your taste in furniture is. If you want to talk about your library tables and not just the union label on them, by all means include a picture of them. And I'll say it again, that I wasn't attacking all vintage US furniture - only trying to explain what I've observed about why there is so much badly designed vintage furniture (like the picture I includ ... | |||||
