| ... any art piece, I find pieces that have a strong underlying concept more "successful" overall than pieces that are merely a display of technical skill. I feel like the SIZE of these books is a conceptual thing rather than just an effort to charge you for the "extra" paper. The extra time/effort it takes to page through these book dictates the PACE at which I page through them. I'm as A.D.D. as the next American and find myself flipping through smaller books and thus not paying as much attention as the published might wish I would. If it helps, I CAN'T WAIT t ... | |||||

| uwe Well, yes and no. It really depends on how you use it. The PH5 is designed specifically to hang low over a table, i.e. primarily for task lighting. It does not work very well for general or ambient lighting. This means it will illuminate a specific area, such as a dining table, exceptionally well, but it will not provide enough illumination for an entire room, no matter what lamp you put in it. If I remember correctly, Louis Poulsen recommends that the PH5 should hang somewhere in the range of 60-70 cm above a table. There are times when you want to hang ... | |||||

| ... at the same time, the present example, Europe could not be allowed to supernova economically and eclipse the CBCO itself, and USA, at least until both could be converged, so Europe was arbitrarily required to operate on exhorbitantly high energy resources that were fundamentally kept under the control of the CBCO. European leaders had no choice but to accept the high energy costs, but they could make choices by using government policies channel economic reconstruction into venues and firms they could control. For instance, one way to inhibit the USA's privat ... | |||||

| For safety I always start... For safety I always start with the least aggressive method and continue along by harshness until I get the results I am after. This almost always dictates starting with a damp (not wet) soft sponge. Even this can remove some finishes if you are too aggressive. A recent case is an old ash LCW I had with a large gray area on the seat. I assumed the seat was deeply stained. The damp sponge quickly removed the gray and started to cut through the finish! Fortunatly I noticed this and stopped quickly. A light wiping of varnish on the c ... | |||||

| Iconic 7 There is a reason why you see these (awful) colourfull 7 chairs all over - go to any Fritz Hansen retailer in Europe and find stacks and stacks of them - look closely, see the dust. They do not sell any more - and haven´t for quite a few years now... But if you are a Fritz Hansen retailer (existing or new) FH dictates what you have to order... And, correct, you cannot simply choose to go with the Poul Kjaerholm collection (or something else), nope you have to buy a pile of 7´s as well - even though you know and FH knows that nobody wants them.... | |||||

| Hi Koen, I only purchase and/... Hi Koen, I only purchase and/or pay attention to originals. Knock-off's aren't my thing. I do feel, however that they are fine for others, as I would rather see a derivative in one's collection, than nothing at all. If one's budget dictates buying lesser quality, so be it. | |||||

| Some classic choices I agree something sculptural. Unique. I would like to see the entry and an idea of what you have collected in the rest of your home. My entry dictates a bench. Nothing else really works. So i have a bench. I have six points of entry. The seasons determine the most likely. Now it is becoming winter and dark when i leave and dark when i come home. I'm using the less formal lower ones now. Dumping ground for coats etc. (at this very moment re-programming the timers for heat and lights) and arguing 🙂 I like whc's choice for wow factor (in or ... | |||||

If it is, and it naturally dictates an inside decorated in that style, then leave your walls, decor, etc. because any buyer who is not interested in that type of home is not going to even come inside, once they see an outside that doesn't appeal to their aesthetic. They'll drive on by or come in just for curiosities' sake. If the outside isn't MCM and is more trad ...

I hope to find a nice vintage Eames fiberglass sidechair, perhaps with a new Eiffel base for that little desk. I have lived in this house since May 2007 and getting the living room together has been a long project. I have collected a number of pieces...some might not go together, but these are things that mean alot to me and I hope they belong in this living room. I have never been a big fan of half empty room, so the cluttered look is very natural to me. I think I ment ...

| It seems clear to me: the "sticks" of the chair frame are adequate as structure, and become the dominant aesthetic motif as a result. But at the arm, comfort dictates a broader surface, just in that one place. So, the designer adds just enough material to that one piece of wood, to adjust that part of the frame to the human form. It is certainly not the most economical use of wood, as a good deal of material is thrown away in order to leave this piece, even assuming some "nesting" of parts in the initial cutting. Therefore, this detail is sumultaneously ... | |||||

| Hi Its easy to copy some... Hi Its easy to copy some details, like the shelves. On the other hand, good design dictates that everything else junky is absent from the structure. Kind of like a Bertoia chair.... what is impressive is what is absent. The hardest part to fabricate at home, on the ESU, is the formed rails or legs / shelf brackets / cross brace receivers. They must be perfect, so buying them is best. If one gets bent, its a structural disaster waiting to happen. That will always be a problem with the design. It was also a reason why the design d ... | |||||
