| Thanks for the reply, Rick! It is a tough one. I'm very much a purist when I restore anything. I did consider it possibly being a mushroom or half dome panton/saarinen type shade but I'm not too familiar with lamps and shades types. The screw socket and the cone really throw me off. Maybe it's as simple as a cone glass diffuser to continue the conical lines? Tulip base and cone seem like weird design to me though. I'll spend some more time browsing chairing and 1st dibs and other sites. Anyone else? Thabks | |||||

| ... I identify most of the stuff but this one has me stumped. Here is an example owned by another collector in Chicago in much better condition. The shade is not original but he said the glass diffuser is. It doesn't seem like the typical kitschy 50's lamp with a fiberglass shade (nothing against Majestic lamps). I've only ever seen 5 examples: a pair on 1st dibs, the married pair I have and the nice example I'm showing in the latest round of pics. Another guy that I know was stumped but he was guessing European. The search continues...... Demitri ... | |||||

These do not get the international attention of the factory products or of the used/antique market which have massive selling channels such as 'In Collect' or 'First dibs'. BTW, I am aware of the many issues folks have had with these sites and know how to provide a much improved customer experience. I've been making pieces, one at a time, in my shop for museums and historic sites for most of my life. Without a way to market to a much wider community of serious designers and potential ...

I know for sure that dealers make out like bandits in thrift stores for many decades before the internet came along and made it easier for everyone to see what stuff is actually worth. If anything, it's 1st dibs and like sites who are to blame for the craziness, not charity shops. I mess the days of finding treasures for cheap on a regular basis, but that's how it goes. Things change. There's a small regional chain of non-charity thrift stores in my area (2nd Ave Thrift) who operate by selling do ...

| I just did a quick google image search and didn't see any green rockers, but I know I've seen Scandinavian windsor-style chairs with original dark bluish-green paint. This rocker shows up white white, red, and black paint, plus clear finish. I looked at 1st dibs listings because they usually have a lot of detail photos but only one had a photo of the underside, and fortunately (?) it looks a lot like yours! https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/seating/armchairs/illum-wikkelso-white... I wonder if the lighting on yours is giving it more of a warmish caste th ... | |||||

| Ok so after lots of trawling I've found a few examples of the Mole chair with the screw holes! Unfortunately they were from 1st dibs so I have to take them with a pinch of salt. I had a conversation with the previous owners son and he said it had in his memory he thinks it might have been reupholstered in the 80's when the sofa they had was done. Here are the pictures..... | |||||

They are now switching to Pearsall, any old sofa from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's gets reupholstered and magically becomes designed by Pearsall. 1st dibs is full of bona fide crooks. It has a 3-4 sets of chrome bar stools I have out in the garage, marked as Baughman, selling for $3,200. They are actually made by CAL-STYLE, mine are labelled, but pretty close, except for being much lighter, with much nastier welds, with little round balls on t ...

To call me a "pothead" is judging me by my screen name, when in fact, my last name is Stone, and my first initial R; Stone-R, get it? I don't drink or smoke anything, not even coffee; shocking, I know. | Milo Baughman for Founders? | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | modernefamilie | General discussion
| Without crapping all over 1st dibs. did Baughman ever actually design for Founders? Or is it just another loose association because of High Point, NC?I'm primarily asking because of this reference: https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/seating/sofas/milo-baughman-sling-sofa/id-f_1062852/I have this sofa, and while I see similarities towards Baughman design, I can't find any concrete references that relate Baughman to Founders.Much appreciated! | |||||
