| I'd love it if you could pursue the quest to document as much of this work as possible. Let no more documents be lost ! I am going to peruse that sheet above -- but I already see some unusual features of the drawings. To see an elevation on a blueline diazo print partially colored by the architect is rare enough. To see a perspective/elevation as in one of the smaller views -- if that's what it is -- is even rarer. Thanks ! | |||||

| Thank you,@lexi, very interesting. Edit: That just can't be true, the website of Mats Linder is boasting about a photo of Farah diba, then-wife of the Iranian fascist Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Seems Mats Linder is not aware of this, or he is just politically naive. | |||||
| Pair of console bench bookshelves - ID designer, circa date, origin, wood????.. | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | smallbatch | General discussion | |
| Hello I bought this pair of console bookshelves at a thrift store, a set of legs was missing on one shelf. I've since made new legs and stripped the horrible stain off, still working on stripping. You can see original remaining nearly black-brown stain in photo. The wood appears to be ash?? Anyone have an idea who could have designed or made/manufactured these and/or era? They have a slight japanese feel, but seem more MCM. There are a few MCM designers I've noticed that made ash pieces with dowel shape legs, such as Charlotte Perriand, ect. I would be grateful for any opinions, input. Also, opinions on refinishing, perhaps soap finish, leave blonde or stain. Thanks | |||||

| ... the mark on pricing something. These are the same stores that started out with the mission of redistributing goods to those that could not afford new. Then at some point they noticed that individuals were getting vintage/antique objects, that had more value than what they had asked for them, and these people were reselling these objects for far more than they paid at the resale store. In very human fashion, these charities started checking branded objects on the internet, and found First dibbs, et. al. The problem, of course, is that these charities ha ... | |||||

| Unfortunately, when it comes to accuracy in attribution (and price), 1st dibbs is a notorious offender. It all comes down to whether you really want to know who designed the chair, or you just want to gather evidence that supports your desires. If you are looking for the former, then you really need to find some literature (S | |||||
| The chairs are original, | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Zephyr | Identification | |
| The chairs are original, there would be little reason to produce fakes, as they are just not worth that much (far less than what first dibbs is asking). I agree with everything tk says above, except I am quite sure the finish has been altered. The scratch on the back of the seat is darker than the rest of the finish, combined with the fact that these chairs are maple, means someone added something after the chair was scratched. It is probably just oil, but pretty hard to say without seeing the actual chairs. By the way, these chairs should not be oiled, i ... | |||||

| ... (Ebay, Etsy, auction houses, etc.) to find your range of prices. You cannot use the prices on retail sites like 1st dibbs, Charish, etc. as they are typically inflated 300-500%. Of course, location, condition, and luck will also play a large part in the price you could hope to realize. Experience with buying and selling vintage furniture, is something that takes time to master, so you may need to come to the realization that you are going to have to sell it where you can, for what you can. Maximization is not something you will likely achieve, especiall ... | |||||
