| Go to any big box home... Go to any big box home improvement centre as stated above. In the wiring department you will have an assortment to chose from. Find the one that looks like white tubing, 5/16ths of an inch or so in diameter. It's white with no ribs. A very common wire and not difficult to find. Three wires inside, 2 and a ground. Get a little more than you think you need. Looks great for pendant lamps. | |||||

| I picked up a Flamestone... I picked up a Flamestone covered casserole dish (~12" diameter) last weekend at a vintage store, with the intent for active use in the kitchen for cooking and serving. While I have looked extensively for the older teak and rare woods Dansk pieces, I do not know much about the Flamestone line, which seems to have been offered over many years starting in 1957. The mark on the bottom of the dish has partially faded over time, but is the same as the one below, found googling. Based on the Danish spelling of "Danmark" which only appear ... | |||||

| ... SJT means it's stranded, junior service (up to 300V) and has a thermoplastic jacket. I believe all of these elements are important: the stranded wiring makes it more flexible, the junior service makes it rated properly for lightbulb power, and the jacket is rigid enough to support the weight of the pendant. I've found the cabling through a few online cabling manufacturers, but the cost is pretty high due to shipping. Again, I think they are more set up for selling by the spindle as the minimum shipping fee is around $30. There are also numerous computer pow ... | |||||

| And noah again The lamp's feet are roughly 1 inch and 5 8ths in diameter. The lamp is a little over 4 feet and 1 inch tall. The shade is about 9 inches long. fastfwd, the joint looks like the ones that pegboard posted above. The one you just posted looks like the real lamp but possibly with an altered joint. here is another authenticated one with the joint that matches the lamp I have: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/8755807 I'll post a pic of that with more pics of mine below. | Mine You and alexandersforum are correct. There are different generations and different manufacturers of the grasshopper lamp and I believe yours is authentic. Here is a detail of the pair you linked to. The neck/ head transition is the same as yours. There are a number of details that vary among the different generations and makers of the grasshopper lamp. I have seen many of these in person, inspected them closely, compared and contrasted them and I've yet to sort it all out. I would be interested in seeing more detailed shots of your lamp. | JLL, I'm not an expert on these chairs, but it looks like the post is of a bigger diameter and shorter length than those in the photos on the Vitra site. The wood does look nice though. http://www.vitra.com/en-gb/home/products/lounge-chair-ottoman/overview/ | |||||

| Vintage lamp Another one beauty in my collection, bought this vintage lamp today for just $15! I very like its design, especially when the lamp is turned on. It gives very pure and soft orange light from the sides and diffused white light from the top and the bottom. The lamp consists of hard plastic rings (orange and white) and a metal frame. diameter of the lamp is 25cm, height is 22cm. I think this lamp was designed in 70s-80s. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rus_tam/sets/72157625503215789/detail/ | |||||

| Meblo lamp I bought this beautiful vintage 70s lamp for just $12. The lamp is 45cm in height and 35cm in diameter. Chromed steel base and dual color plastic shade. I tried to know something about this lamp and found that this lamp was designed by Harvey Guzzini who worked with "Meblo" in 70s. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rus_tam/sets/72157625503215789/detail/ | |||||

| Well.... | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| Well.... ...I wouldn't worry about the chip near the rocker. I would seriously think about getting it stripped or sanded and then repainted. I would have that broken spindle replaced. And last, I would look into cleaning the seat with soap. I think LuciferSum here did that with a paper cord seat (maybe on this same chair?) and had good results. I believed he used the same kind of soap that is used on Danish pine floors. I will hunt around for the thread tomorrow when I have more time. The seat is worth trying to clean if the cords are intact. I got one o ... | |||||
| Also.. | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| Also.. ..it looks like the cord is a bigger diameter than was used on the originals. There should be a four-strand group on either side, not three-strand as yours has. And I see three strands of wrapped cord between each front-to-back double strand on the back rail and I think it's supposed to be four, if not five. And in case that's not enough proof, there is a screw holding a loop of cord on the underside. Should be an upholstery tack and it should be up higher and not so visible from that angle. WHEW, i'm boring even myself now... | |||||
